I don't agree with his theory simply because it's based on his political views and if the theory was correct there would be a long list a of Murdered MPs.

That's fine. You think it's totally implausible to hold the view that hate rhetoric had any part in this death.
Let's see what the investigation throws up. Let's see if the connections to far right groups lead anywhere.
Let's see what his Internet history throws up.
IMO it is way too early to rule any possible motive out but you seem to have dismissed the possible motive given by JOB already.

Just heard SF say that the Tories will not be contesting the by election due to the killing of Jo Cox.
This is an act of common decency and respect and the Tory party should be applauded for this decision.

I heard the start of O'Brian's show in the car . I thought surely even he wouldn't stoop so low as to promote his own political views regarding this tragic death, there will be a UKIP diatribe soon.
Wasn't able to hear any more but on reading here it seems it ended up worse than I thought.
Hate filled? OMG hatred seeps from every pore of that man towards anyone who does not think mass immigration or staying in the EU is a wonderful thing.

Further to my above post. It would seem this crime was committed by a man with mental health issues. That is what is concerning not his silly political views and has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone else. His mental state was what led to the murder no sane person does this.

When did you get to see his medical records? Or are you using mental health issues as a sort of catch all phrase as the sole reason for the killing?
If you are then be aware that about 1 in 4 adults in the UK suffer from mental issues of one sort or another.

I thought it was an excellent three hours. Why, is it not just possible that if a MP who has done a lot of work for refugees gets brutally murdered by a man who shouts the name of a far right wing group while he does it,might not have been just possible that he was influenced by the over the top 'fear of foreigners' garbage that we here every day. I don't agree with mass immigration, but some of the scare stories Farage and his ilk bang on about, IE, 70 million turks could soon arrive soon, etc don't help anyone. And whats staying in the EU has got to do with it ??
Well done JOB!

Next time there's a mass murder committed by a Muslim, I trust we'll get 3 hours of sotto voce, faux sincerity O 'Brien blaming hate preaching for the outrage.

I seem to remember he was the same when the body of the Syrian boy was washed ashore. He used it as a platform to try to shame people. Still, I guess he has broadcast what a caring man he is and that's what matters.

Regarding O'Brien this morning:

I haven't seen any of this 'hate' stuff in 'the Right Wing Media'

Someone might be pushed over the edge not by rhetoric from 'hate promoters' but by their own negative experience of what it's like for them to live in today's so-changed society

The reason why the immigration topics are so frequently covered is that they represent a very big issue to many people. On grounds of birth rates alone, why wouldn't people feel concerned that in the longer term the country left to their descendants would be subject to a very different culture

Why are certain issues frequently reported - creating what some call a milieu of ~phobia? Possibly because events/political statements are initiated by people promoting a culture which is unwished-for by the traditional minded

It's natural for people to have reservations about those coming from other cultures - it doesn't have to mean that they're considered 'inferior' and is thus not 'racist' in the original sense

Why is there most resistance to come-all policies in areas least affected by immigration?: simply, in such areas, the more traditional way of life can be perceived and lived and is seen as something worth trying to preserve. In several UK cities, it has already disappeared, so - for young people especially - there's no concept of that kind of everyday society

One of the questions JOB raises frequently is whether this is a big issue for people because the media/some politicians raise it so frequently in the terms that they do, rather than the other way around as you put it. It's the chicken and egg question.

I don't know the answer (although like most things, I suspect it's at neither of the two extremes), but I do think it's a valid question to raise, and I'm glad that at least someone is asking it. I don't hear that question from most other areas of the media, and certainly not from LBC, except JOB and Nick Abbot.

I heard the first 90 mins of JOB this morning. I think he sounded passionate, but measured in that period, as did most of the callers.

I posted earlier about the 'grain of sand' caller, and I think that analogy was spot on.

It has been reported that he has a history of mental illness. What other reason do you have knowledge of that could be responsible for this murder?

Perhaps JOB get his news from different sources when compared with some posters on this thread?

Police have told the Guardian that they have found Nazi regalia in the suspects house.
Michael Crick has been told that the suspect is to be moved to London and will be charged under anti-terrorism legislation.
If true....(Michael Crick does not strike me as a fantasist) we will be discussing a Political Assassination.....one of the biggest news stories of the 21st Century........just days before the Eu Referendum.

Mental illness comes in many forms and varying levels of severity.
You are the one who is claiming that mental illness is the only reason for the killing.

Crick is a proven investigative journalist.
Lot more to come out but as JOB said today the words of the husband of Jo were very telling.

We still don't know what your POV is based on.
Is it based on information already discovered by journalists?
And if not......what?
Your imagination?

No it shouldn't, if paying respect to this poor woman is done by taking away peoples democracy in the by election by politicians is their idea of remembering her then it is the wrong one.......So much for democracy.

Just another knee jerk reaction.

All of the information (discovered by journalists) about the suspect, as at 10am this morning, was available from 7am, or earlier, in the online versions of National Newspapers.
Which of these have you read and which of these have you not read?
Which of the 2 differing comments on "mental illness" from 2 different brothers are you going with??

Please don't tell us you are spouting from a position of fingers in ears.....blindfold on.....??
If you are not expressing an opinion based on limited currently reported information from journalists, then I ask you again.......what exactly is your spouting based upon?
