I miss Ken but personally think the show is better Ken was happy for David to dominate the show and not talk much.

I wonder if Vanessa feels in any way responsible for having completely RUINED the broadcasting career of Ken Nazaldrone and I wonder if at times Ken finds himself thinking "Thanks a freakin' bunch, Vanessa, you ****!.". It was on her show that the conversation led him to say the things that appear to have caused him to become ostracised. By the way, I would just like to say that I think it is terrible that Ian Collins calls her "Vanessa Fatz".

I am sorry we have lost Ken but Michael Crick + DM is very good in a slightly different way. I hope the ratings are not terrible because I want this (arguably) geeky political show in the schedules.

For me...the Radio moment of the week was on Thursday.
No. Scrub that. The Radio moment of the year came from Iain Dale on Thursday.

Despite my endless stream of pro-feminist posts on this forum, I am a straight man. I am so straight it hurts (subject to wardrobe). But the sound of a sensitive man weeping for Jo Cox live on air, and apologising to listeners for doing so was stunning. I am going to make no apology or feel even the tiniest hint of embarrasment for saying now that there was beauty in Iain Dale's response to the absolutely stunning news that was delivered just after 5pm on Thursday.

A few years ago....LBC was rolled out to a nationwide DAB audience, and - in some areas - was then withdrawn again because some licensing arrangements had changed. At the time I voiced strong objections on this forum. You cannot do that. Speech radio is about a relationship with listeners. Turning it on and off like a switch would not have worked in the case of Terry Wogan (the first example that popped into my head) and it does not work now. Thankfully sense prevailed and we now have a (serious) National talk radio station.

I am very happy that I have the opportunity to invite Iain Dale into my home/car every week day.

I thought Andrew Pierce was excellent again on Friday. His political base line does not stop my enjoyment of his show at all. It seems clear to me that if he were not broadcasting for those 3 hours he would probably be arguing with passion about Politics with friends and colleagues. Maybe that is the key? He loves every moment.

It was Ken that said the words. Vanessa didn't give him a script and tell him to say them.

In terms of professionalism in broadcasting, I thought it pathetic - put him down in the realms of the ludicrous Christo, and it doesn't get any lower than that!

Well that's interesting David.
2 different views on a brief section of a broadcast that could not possibly be further apart. Without that - we don't have much of a forum.

Yes, I'm often amazed about other people's views which contrast so much with mine. But this is human nature and 'diversity' in the real sense. It's why this current talk about a kinder tone to the debate is nonsense. What gets me down is the tendency for politicians to be too ready for consensus because they seek to 'manage' rather than resist change or create change for reasons of conviction, e.g. Cameron has reconstructed a party which is no longer conservative in thought or action.

It's no longer a Party ............. it's a PR consultancy.

I'm a lifelong Tory voter but I'm withdrawing my support for as long as Cameron remains leader. And I'm pleased to see Osborne has dropped to third in the betting for the next leader.

I don't see that BIB as a logical conclusion at all. Being kinder to one another is surely about having a proper debate, where everyone is allowed to be heard, and which doesn't descend into name-calling all the time, or in some cases, actual violence. I've said it before, but this idea that you need the hide of a rhino in order to enter a debate is very wrong, IMO, and something that should be challenged.

It's not just views that are diverse, but how people participate in a debate and are included too, and taking that into account matters.

I've never been able to abide Cameron for being just a PR man. Whatever happened to the conviction politicians?

Hmm, poor performance by Paul Weston of Liberty GB in response to a badgering interview by Stig. Difficult while people are feeling traumatised and sensitive. Foolish to say some of the things he said in the way he said them, but there is an argument to be had that Labour has butchered this beautiful nation and they should be condemned and opposed for having done so. Other mainstream parties have continued in much the same vein and something fresh and different is needed. Perhaps the search for that goes on.

Jack Buckby is the candidate and it was supposed to be him but he bottled out for some reason so we got Paul Weston instead.

Credit to LBC for this tie-up with the BBC and Question Time.
