Hezza has delusions of grandeur. The late MP Alan Clark, son of a lord and a dreadful snob himself. came up with the wonderful put-down that "Heseltine comes across as a man who had to buy all his own furniture,"

"a bunch of self interested MPs" not that rubbish again.

Steve's show laced with innuendo this a.m.

"Clotted cream via post"

"The purchase of a pair of bottomless, leather chaps during a momentary lapse of butchness"

"Mum can I lick the bowl please?"

"Phil Vickery says I look young"

"In CostCo I couldn't find anything in my size"

"M&S clotted cream pudding"

"Elasticated waistband inserts on jeans"

"Ambrosia custard (in a Devon accent)"

"As I looked through the window of Zara..I could see the Assistants smirking.."nothing in here for you fatty"

"Rodders' clotted cream has 55% fat"

"Unaware, my shorts slowly slid to the floor"

"Grass-fed Australian sirloin"

"I'm not in on Friday, must cancel 'the car'

The Sir Cliff debacle has incensed Steve & the quest for Tommy Bahama to accept his PayPal continues.

I don't know why he keeps buying TB shirts. They're very expensive and all look like off-cuts from John Lewis soft furnishing dept. He must have dozens of the things already. And surely he could get one of his many friends to order them for him if his Paypal account is the problem. Or he surely must have a debit card. I think he just likes a bit of drama to witter on about.

Morning all.

Did Steve Allen mention Millets clothing store today, thought they went the way of the Dodo years ago, bought one of their Wolfie Smith style combat jackets years ago.!

About the TB thing (no me neither.) an American friend said wearing one of those shirts means you should be boarding a plane to Hawaii.

I bet Martin could put off the look, though..

It's the 'bottomless leather chaps' teamed with a Tommy Bahama shirt image that remains

What will be the main reason for a remain win.
Postal votes or dodgy vote counters?
LBC will probably put up a poll for their core audience.

Yes, Millets.
He's apprehensive about getting into camping clothing just yet.

Still in shock that Millets is still in existence.

Very surprised to see Nick Clegg back this morning. His disastrous election defeat must put his credibility very low.

One of my hobby horses is that I get very frustrated when the remain say that the points system would increase immigration.
This is intellectually and logically untrue. The points system, by definition, allows you to decide who and how many people you want to allow in, How a country decides to run such a system is a seperate debate, but fundamentally you cannot say that a points system does not allow you to control immigration, it's just not true.

Postal votes. Much larger scope for dishonesty. Just ask ex-Mayor Lutur Rahman how to populate a constituency with phantom and/or dead voters. Or accidentally 'mislay' sacks of unfavourable votes.

They must have run out of talking heads to have Corporal Clegg on there. Another of the elite, with little experience of the workaday world.

Did you watch Boris on tv last night?
Asked repeatedly if there would be a reduction in immigration post Brexit he would not answer.

I bet he's got a cushy EU job lined up for when he leaves Parliament. As have most of the Remainers, I imagine!

Yep. You can be sure his "service" will be rewarded in the EU or the Lords, when the time comes.

they were merged with Blacks, saw a lot of stores close and sit within the jd sports empire... they nearly became part of sports direct grot shops.

heard the last five minutes of steve's show before the news... he was being told about "pure filtered milk" bless him... just proves why you don't get advertisers aiming for steve types... the number of "bob" or "cresvale" adverts he must have seen while watching daytime filler tv with a fizzy wine in his hand... just doesnt get absorbed into his long closed mind.

Not something I have ever posted before but had to turn off the first hour of JOB today. The subject matter is just too depressing and sad and it will upset me for most of the day.
Am sure James will do a good job handling it but it really is not for me.
Will tune in later to see which politicos folk feel have enhanced reputations after the ref debate.
IMO Ruth Davidson did well let night, certainly owned Boris.

I admire her when she's batting for the Tories against Labour and the SNP but haven't liked her during the Ref. campaign. Funny how electoral preferences can distort your view of people.

JOB discussing a really tragic story but he adopts the attitude that he is more understanding, more distressed and more caring about the subject than anyone else. He is reluctant to acknowledge that other people are capable of feeling the same way he does

Aye that is true. I have a grudging respect for Ruth and I honestly think she will be the UK Tory leader one day.
Might come as a bit of a shock to the blue rinse set to have a kickboxing lesbian as leader but they will get over that when they see just how good she is.
BTW She did own Boris
