Brian will be answering the questions himself in the mystery hour as usual I suspect.

Live tracker of the audience showed a big swing to Remain by the end, with over 50% of the vote, with 13% undecided. Remarkable.

Moment of the night was Steve Hilton being shown up for talking about seeing the levels of unelected bureaucracy' when he was in government, then being reminded that he was never in govt and never elected, and but still part of govt bureaucracy.

Still very interesting to see how different people in similar situations have such different views. Hugh Orde claiming policing would be much harder out of Europe, whilst a counter-terrorism officer of 30 years saying the EU was immaterial. Who the heck is one supposed to believe?”

Just saw that Farage withdrew at 2 pm for family reasons.
There is a rumour and I repeat rumour going round the politics forum that a member of his family 2as attacked.
Hopefully this is just a rumour as violence against anyone is abhorrent.

Just listening to Ian Collins having a desperate last gasp attempt at supporting 'Leave' before the midnight blackout.
Following a couple of hours of tedious, meaningless, repetitive and uninformed waffle, a woman phones in:
'Well, it's all about the, you know, corporations and, um, well, you know, immigration and stuff, innit?'
'I really appreciate you giving a, you know, um, balance to, um James O'Brien in the mornings, who is very, you know, um, vociferous, isn't he?"
Ian Collins:
Well, I don't think that James O'Brien actually gives an opinion, does he?'

Riveting stuff, eh?

It's possible to signal one's loyalties and intentions without giving an actual opinion; and I don't think there's much doubt about which way J O'B will be voting today. Or, indeed, where most of the other presenters will be placing their X. Except perhaps Steve, who has never revealed whether he's in or out!

Whatever the result, the fall-out, recriminations and conspiracy theories are going to be awesome!

Morning all.

He's already started. This was his ridiculously childish tweet this morning:

Just listening to the stuff about gun control in the US.
Republicans are opposing banning the sale of weapons to people on a no fly list or under surveillance as a terror suspect. Utter madness.
Whatever the EU ref result may be I think we can be glad that we don't have this gun culture which is blighting the US.

Stable door - horse - bolted. Even if they ban the things there will be millions still in circulation.

Discussions of the EU referendum are completely forbidden on LBC today until the voting has closed. Same applies to all of the regulated radio stations including the BBC.

Anyone who does want to listen to (or get involved in) some EU referendum discussion today should be aware that this will be available on the UK's only unregulated talk radio station. I am talking about Talk2Me Radio - The Home Of Free Speech. The Jon Gaunt programme will start an hour later than usual today (at 11.00 AM) and run for 3 hours so folks may wish to consider dumping wally Brian with his cans over only one ear and the horrendously dull and monotonous Horse-Startler Foggerty and partake of some more relevant chat on this important day.

Recent guests on the Gaunty show have included multi-millionaire Jim Mellon who was named by Gove on LBC recently as being one of the UK's most important investors and who favours brexit.

Iain and Shelagh are on the schedule as doing their usual 3-hour shows, then they're back at 10pm to go through until 5am.

Their invoice for the extra work should make good reading for their bank balanceBTW All LBC posters who think Brexit will win should trot off to the local bookies and stake £100. Just think, if it is a leave vote then you will trot back from the bookies tomorrow with a cool £700 in your hot little paw.
