I have read all the posts redvers and do not think that Bangla's second question was that out of order. Believe me I am no fan of James O'Brien, he is polemic at the very least. But I did not think he "absolved BBC management" when he opened his show this morning, he was reporting what had been said in the press. No doubt you will not agree.

I was in a traffic jam this morning so listened on to the Mystery Hour. James O'Brien at his most pompous, I think I may call in with the question next week "why are you such a pompous fool? I expect he will answer it and give himself a round of applause.

JOB was reading a report. Would you have held the same opinion about any broadcaster reading the same report? Or is it just because it was JOB who read it you came to voice what you said?

I too am not a huge James fan but I respect him as a broadcaster and columnist
And he's doing something right as he's in great demand not only on LBC but elsewhere
He's producing excellent figures which to some on here is like a red rag to a bull
Over the last few weeks I've not read one single post that's anti James that doesn't involve sneering nasty digs at the man or his family
It's not about the show nine times out of ten where James is concerned it's personal digs at the man himself
You know one day I truly hope against hope James is given a new job .. He works hard and he deserves it
When that day comes I'll be interested to see what some people on here will do with themselves

Isn't that the general idea of an LBC discussion thread though? To discuss the output of the station and our likes and dislikes? Luckily we don't all have to agree on who we like and dislike on the station. Happy listening to all!

This is something we can both agree on. I would very much like to see him broadcasting from a lighthouse on an island further south than the Falklands. Brian has run out of anecdotes and run out steam. His pompous, Metropolitan Elite act has been rumbled and many people are now laughing at his Partridge-esque ways. I would like to see a fresh face in the 10am slot - Someone like Tony Parsons who has a varied life exprerience rather than Brian who attended a public school before being shoehorned into a job in newspapers by his father.

I think he has acted in a very poor manner by using the term "Red Indian" and I think mocking an Australian accent is rather discombobulating especially when it is done by a broadcaster who is forever accusing people of being RACIST! Would he have mocked an emailer from Pakistan in a similar manner?

Brian is in the RACIST! business. This means that the more he calls others RACIST!, the more he gets work in the Metropolitan, champagne socialist bubble that he inhabits.

'don't think Nick handled that well', or 'Don't agree with JOB at all on that one : Not having a dig at presenters wives, or worse still, their children, or making repetitive slogans such as JOB is pompous, orJOB is a champagne socialist.
