the PLP were in the majority handpicked by Blair/Brown central office. they want a leader in their masters image blair/brown. these people are not representative of their constituencies but of what central office wanted. change would be difficult under these circumstances. this re-alignment has to happen

the present coup was planned some months ago for post local elections but corbyn performed better than expected. telegraph reported 13th june that the coup was to take place post euref and the PLP expected it to be over in 24hrs. they have followed the script of that article except corbyn hasnt resigned.
the people behind it are past blairite policy/strategy advisors including alistair campbell -- supported by mainstream media.
