Poor Petrie Hosken sounds awful today. Should have taken sick leave.
Presumably it also depends on whether a stand in can be found at short notice? Is there an on-call list even? (In medicine, there is usually a first on-call, then second on-call etc. Does this apply?) I must admit, I find it distracting when a presenter is obviously ill - I start concentrating on their deteriorating health instead of the topic.

Out of interest - whose decision is it as to whether a presenter is too sick to work? I assume there are occasions when a presenter is keen to carry on (doesn't get paid if they don't) but 'someone' will decide that they sound too ill. Who is it who decides?

Any chance that Farage may not be on LBC quite so much?
http://mobile.newsnow.co.uk/A/2/818436266?-15102:21126 Have said it many times, he repels far more than he attracts. |

Blimey, it always amazes me how so many posters (the fannies as I call them) get wound up by someone's radio act.

It always amazes me how many posters are prepared to swallow the excuse that Fanny Allen's "performance" is an act. Actually if it is, that is arguably even worse. Either way - he's a vicious, spiteful old fool

Most presenters get into the LBC offices some time before their programme starts, so if Petrie for instance became too ill to continue, then Ian Payne could take up the reins and present a longer programme.
Hey radiodad .... One for you I think ![]() What is the protocol when a presenter goes sick? Is there an 'on call' list. Jeremy Vine had a moment recently when his producer (I think) had to take over half way through a show and years ago I remember producer Bob talking over from Clive Bull but I would have thought the next presenter on would have just done the show a bit earlier and extend their shift if they were in?? James Whale was late in once because of traffic and Julia Hartley Brewer held the fort till he got there. |

"I've received an email saying I've won a thousand pounds, or something.
Help! Help!" "Let's see now. That's a one, a dot and two zeroes. You've won a pound!" "Wow! I'm shaking, I'm shaking…"

Did anyone catch Cristo on about the EU this morning? He was totally outfaced by one particular caller (Paul). Since he couldn't 'out argue' him, he got a bit excited and resorted to interrupting him ever other sentence.

Natalie Bennet wittering on about why we should get rid of Trident. Suzanne Evans (the only sensible kipper) making mincemeat of her.
Morning all.

What is the point of having politically illiterate guests on political shows? Caroline Malone clearly struggles to understand the difference between the ECHR and the EU. She did not seem to realise that Switzerland is not in the EU either.

LBC Changed some of there jingles which sound good.
The travel presenters don't say ' More Travel in half hour ' anymore? Steve Allen was good this morning |

But she know her showbiz! It's a current affairs programme. She's reviewing the papers, not all of which are obsessed with politics.

I saw a comedy programme last night about the EU. So true were the comments, to paraphrase, 'we've been told both, if we exit the EU or stay in, immigration will be controlled'. 'We can still trade with other countries too whatever decision you make'. The comedic panel were left utterly confused for choice, so am I!

I think all the weekend shows have had a jingle change. Ferrari and O'Brien's have stayed the same on weekdays, but what about Fogerty and Dale? I haven't been listening to them recently so I don't know if the jingles have changed or not.
