Bev T. discussing maternity care / child- birth......... Not to be missed

Possibly, we are about to be treated to a full mumsnet discussion.

Hardly relevant to Madam. Due to her husband's millions, she did it all privately.

We are all in it together

I will be listening to my SA recording. Infinitely, preferable !!

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone x

The current LBC presenter, ought have Trump as a nickname.....!! He comes across as an idiot...
I assume you mean Stig Abell.
He has some good credentials but comes over really poorly, lots of stammering and using the same superficial arguments again and again, never adds to a topic.

This morning he was covering Sunday shopping, a topic he has covered before very recently, but it was an exact repeat "market forces", "the war has already been won", "Church of England...........".

Bev Turner has been so engrossed in childbirth a guest speaker suddenly cut across her mumsy spiel to talk about the Oscars! All very disorientating for listeners.

Did anyone else hear the (regular) caller Jonathan on NA's show last night? Having previously gone OTT on Friday, calling NA some kind of cultural nazi/fascist/communist (!), he went on to surpass himself yesterday.

He called everyone that would vote to stay in the EU traitors, and that following the election, he would be like General Pinochet and kill them all. NA cut him off sharpish!

Every time he mentions religion he sneers at it, and similarly his views seem very narrow and self-centred, as in the Sunday shopping. 'I want it therefore it should happen'. He comes across as definitely thinking he and his views are superior to anyone else's, in every sphere. Not unlike some others but there's not really anything else about him to balance it with, no actual character.

Sounds like this caller should Phone Farage.

Oh dear! Bev doing how to give birth!
I really don't like Bev Turner and have to switch off. Ditto Iain Dale who I feel personally has ruined drive time. James Whale was sometimes really annoying but at least he was entertaining.

I was always late to the party but was over the moon to hear that Iain Lee is hosting the late slot on Talk Radio. I think they really will be giving LBC a run for their money !! I don't listen to LBC in the evenings but if I did I would switch over to Talk Radio.

Wow! The referendum is months away. If he's this crazy now, how much more crazy will he be by June? I hope that call is on YouTube.

I don' t like Beverly Turner. Her manner of talking and grunting back as if she's not listening is dreadful. Off with LBC between 10 and 12.

Re. the sex show on Saturday nights, why do I get the feeling some of the callers are on a wind-up?

Lucy Beresford seems to be rather oblivious to it all.

Did anyone catch Cristo on about the EU this morning? He was totally outfaced by one particular caller (Paul). Since he couldn't 'out argue' him, he got a bit excited and resorted to interrupting him ever other sentence.
Ignorant, inarticulate, unintelligible and irritating - how on earth does this 'Christo' manage to be employed as a broadcaster?

Clive Bull has said, if we stay in the EU no longer will classic car rallies be held due to the clean air policy. A caller replied, 'So much for being controlled and having no power'. Nail.on.head.hit. IMO.

LBC Changed some of there jingles which sound good.

The travel presenters don't say ' More Travel in half hour ' anymore?

Steve Allen was good this morning
I get very confused about Steve Allen. Almost all of what he says is absolute self-contradictory nonsense and it’s got to be irritating to know that he thinks himself amusing, witty and perceptive. Even so, I put it on most mornings when insomnia is getting the upper hand! One of the things that most annoys is his frequent recital of the prevailing liberal-fascist dictums that people's sexuality is of no import anymore and yet he regularly refers to it in the subjects about which he talks. A tendency to dwell on death and illness in a mawkish manner is also becoming increasingly evident. It’s bad enough on LBC with these ‘terminal illness’ ads!

BiB. I hadn't noticed, although she spends hours talking on childbirth so I've no reason not to believe you.

It's all above the law what Steve says and most of the time it's what the papers have wrote, but he puts it into his own words. He makes me laugh what he says about these so called celebs as they do make themselves look stupid.

Just watching Dad's Army from last night "A Soldier's Farewell" and at 9 mins in, Captain Mainwaring says, "it's all very well, but fine words butter no parsnips" at which the audience laugh.
So now we know who JOB styles himself on, there are some similarities.

Hey radiodad .... One for you I think

What is the protocol when a presenter goes sick? Is there an 'on call' list.
There is a preferred cover presenter for most slots. This is the person first called to cover if needed, its also quite common to have a presenter that coveres lots of illness and holidays like James Max did.

In terms of if it's a very last minute thing or a presenter is late th previous presenter will continue untill something can be sorted. Worse case scenario is that the previous presenter will stay on for half the slot and the next presenter will start early.

When he called Scottie McClue when Scottie McClue was on Magic AM, Ken was from Doncaster. He was first from the Highlands when I heard him when he used to call Premier Tonight on Premier Radio. Where else has Ken been from?

And about a minute after I wrote this somebody called Ken texted Premier Radio. I don't know if Ken does texts.

There was a Methodist called John from South West London who would ring Premier Radio and then ring LBC straight afterwards during their phone-ins that were broadcast simultaneously.
