No doubt Iain will be concerned at the drop of listening numbers.

Please do!

Congratulations. You've just set the world record for using the word 'caller' five times in one sentence. It would have been an even greater achievement had it made sense.

Another person who doesn't understand the concept on Talkradio ! If you just want to hear lots of callers with little presenter input & lots of balance which will keep you happy I suggest 5live or any BBC station . That is what they have to do . LBC & Talkradio / Talksport is a different format . One I much prefer .

the problem is that lbc presenters do mostly believe in what they say.

the only credible host is nick abbot - he can and does play it all directions and hes about the most informative.

You make it sound like her rent a gob ways don't make "headines" via twitter and the rag that she writes for. LBC used to go with her "columns" as an excuse for their shows too and not only can I be bothered to give her the time of day but she bores me rigid whenever I haerd a few minutes of her shows. I tuned in to see if Mellor was on today or not and as soon as I heard her and her having yet another problem with another group of people I just thought to myself what a bore off and I turned actually switched sides. ”

trump v clinton. clinton has all the neocon money backing her.

doesnt wash with me. she is an islamophobe. yes she is calculated in how and who she targets but she is certainly not faking it.

bit of a hypocrite and part of the cristo-iain dale clique . i dont think we needed any more islamophobes .

listened for a while, most of his callers were his 'friends' so was left unchallenged. it was really him and his ego.

hes not that evolved by all accounts. he failed horribly in the elections. but he provides a service as a 'native informant' on behalf of governments and like minded media hacks.

However, that doesn't mean I'll give carte blanche for some idiot to come on the radio and tell overt lies. The idiot in question asserted that in his convention speech, he had told his supporters to go out and perpetrate violence against ethnic minorities. Now, put yourself in my position. What would you do? Exactly you'd take on the caller, just as I did. Here'a short video of how I did it.

Yes, I did shut the caller off in the end, because she was talking complete and utter bollocks. Doing so does not mean I support Donald Trump. It means I don't want people lying to my listeners.

We had two other calls from people who made other stupid claims and I took them on. If you seriously think that utter loons should be given free rein to spout their conspiracy theories, fine, go and listen to another radio station.

If a caller had made such idiotic accusations against Hillary Clinton I'd have handled it in exactly the same way. It's called responsible broadcasting.

Happy Saturday ”

You needn't have written all of this, Iain- you should have just posted a link to a photo of your "Radio Presenter of the Year" award in response!

I do like the show. It provides a useful purpose and as far as I know is the only one of its type.

It's only 2 hours a week. What's the problem?

He seemed to suggest that was true in response to a caller, but there is nothing on the Radio Today website.

Didn't think so.

He's joking at the handover with Cristo about his "apparent leaving" saying getting fired normally happens after the show not during it. Where did all that come from in the first place then? Says he's back next weekend.

I wondered what happened to David this morning. I assumed he was just taking summer off whilst Parliament was in recess?

More's the pity. Did I just hear the ignorant one, whom I believe was once a DJ say that Pete Seeger was English, and in virtually the same sentence that skiffle wasn't a British phenomenon.

Maybe he is moving to a station where he can revert to his old style of shows - more open line and less topic led.

Nick said you can download my podcast every week. It's around 20 minutes and exciting and my blog too. Plus be back next Friday and Saturday before he handed over to Cristo. Wouldnt have said that if he was leaving.
