I think Iain Dale said he plans to return to this issue on a later show. He was condemning it as a democratic treason or something in that vein.

Nothing like some OTT hyperbole from LBC to keep the diehards hitting the phones.

Well if giving access to people who oppose official government policy is common sense then Ian Dale has a fair point.

Good bit of old fashioned investigative journalism by Theo into the cab trade. Ferrari was excellent in following it up on air. Wish NF would do more of this good work of highlighting suspect systems and less of the desk thumping DM stuff.

JOB will be talking about some of the people who slavishly troll him online. Should be good for a laugh.

JoB talking about adam johnson the convicted child abuser, so far hasnt discussed the effect of his 'Pakistan' village in Mirpur & his 'Asian' cultural heritage that made him do it.

Because to JoB it's never a British cultural issue.

His close affiliates are the likes of Michael Gove, Douglas Murray and that ilk. So whilst he wants us to view him as soft right his political history is closer to the extremity of neo conservatism.

Its the same with JoB as it happens, his mentor into journalism he has said is Charles Moore and most of JoB's affiliates are from the same neo conservative political pot.

Oh that would be brilliant! Wonder if some trolls are feeling just a wee bit anxious right now?

They probably would be over the moon to have that recognition.

JoB has never been that worried about freespeech as long as its his and not that of his detractors.

Aye, I imagine that some of the trolls would be delighted to hear their name on the radio. At last they have managed to be noticed, not for their intellegence or contribution to society but for being obnoxious online. Suppose everyone has to have a goal in life.

They are completely different situations, but I've no doubt James will "compare and contrast" the two issues.

Nope. The crime is the same. He finally appears to have accepted this obvious observation.

He has a strange idea of what trolls are. How does he know who is a real person using their real name and who isnt (apart from obvious fakes).

JO'B ruined his hour on Adam Johnson, the former footballer, by saying to a female caller- who voiced an un- PC opinion that....... He pitied her children.

He seems unable to handle dissenting callers, without becoming personal & insulting.

Very disappointing

Mystery hour to look forward to. I wonder how many rounds of applause James will award himself, today

Happy Thursday to All x

Very strange that JoB didnt understand the very simple point - its about his narrative from a position of power that is perceived to be unchallangeable.

That sense of disenfranchisement is reinforced when eg JoB prevents that access to him without debate/discussion. This is why ppl Troll.

He effectively 'blocked' her by ending the call sharply. He probably thought she was a troll.

Was that the Caller Sylvia who reckoned the victim of AJ deserved a slap? TBH I pity her children too. The opinion she put out in the public domain was IMO abhorrent.

The crimes are not at the same level though are they? That's like saying shoplifting is the same as armed robbery. The circumstances are completely different.

She had a point and whether or not JOB agreed with it his comment was vile, can you imagine how he would react if someone said they pitied his girls? I do sometimes pity his wife though

The caller was advocating assaulting a child who had been the victim of serious sexual crimes.
