I will. I just hope he keeps off bankers!

I do recall a previous post of yours, where you said you viewed this thread as more of a "Tea Party", and seemed happy to do so, correct me if I'm wrong? Hence, I'm confused.
In reply to the lack of intellectualism, only LBC can supply the topics for any of us to expound upon. Do you think there's any real material other than Brexit in recent times for any in-depth discussion? For instance, in the last day or so topics have covered schooling/grammar and faith schools, along with the subject of dementia, which I happened to think Shelagh covered with great sensitivity.
Can you clue me up in what you would like to discuss? And nope, this is not a challenging post, just a questioning one.

I hope so as I miss the old Nick. I have his podcasts and would usually listen to them during JOB soliloquies but, since the Ref., as soon as NA mentions Brexit (generally within the first 10 mins) I delete that podcast and move onto the next.

I like a tea party, me

I am really topical, as well. I went to a Grammar school !! Today is the second day that JO'B has been discussing this subject. I guess his 2 girls won't be schooled with the children that he feels are being disadvantaged. There's a surprise !!!!

I am looking forward to Nick A, tonight - hopefully, his Brexit angst will have subsided.

Good evening to you all x

Sorry, Cayce, but I have no recollection whatsoever of your 'Tea Party" quote. If you're able to find the context I would be happy to try to answer it.
On your other point, yes, there are plenty of topics for discussion. The comments I make, and have made over the years, are triggered by discussions on LBC, as you suggest.
I don't see what the problem is, if any.

I do rather like a tea party - my day job has too much responsibility at times.

There isn't a problem, there's no hidden agenda. I was trying to find out from recent LBC-related topics how discussion could be expanded upon in an intellectual way as you suggested?

At the moment I have nothing to add to my previous statements, and refuse to be baited further on this subject.
When there is a topic I wish to comment on, then I will and you, of course, will be free to respond if you want to.
Thank you for your understanding.

Dropped in to see what's happening and am confused about this tea party thing.
Are we talking about a Sara Palin type tea party or more along the lines of the Mad Hatter?
Or a chimpanzees tea party?

This confused me too, BR - especially with the use of capitals.

Charlie, what is going on? I WAS NOT baiting you, I'm seriously not interested. I only remember the things you've said, BECAUSE I like your posts. FACT, always have, okay?

BTW. The use of capitals was used to make clear.

PS. The ref: to a Tea Party was used in connection at the time re: American politics to the best of my recall. And you likened it to some of the general mirth going on the thread at the time.

Thanks for the clarifications, Cayce, and the kind words. Much appreciated. I genuinely don't remember, though, unfortunately.
I suppose I could scroll back over the last five years, but this could take a while!
By the way, speaking of the use of capital letters, in reference to some earlier posts on here I should have thought that a 'Leftie' is someone with a persuasion towards the political left, whereas a 'leftie' is someone who is left-handed. Words are great, aren't they? On here, they represent our only means of communication (besides 'smilies'), so their accurate use is important.

You are welcome.

The 'search' facility on DS no longer works. Radiomaniac made the deduction some time ago.
I tried putting in the words you said and I received per usual the automated 'Zero' response. So much for up-to-date technology, heh?

The 'search' function has never worked for me, either.

You and me both, save them for weekdays, 10-1!
A couple of callers tried to draw him on Brexit but he resisted the urge. Hope he continues to improve because I miss the laughs.

He's not resisting the urge very hard tonight. His first sentence included the word Brexit!

I don't listen to NA. If he can't resist the 'evil' word, so shortly after being on-air, it might say more about him than his actual listeners.

TBF he didn't pursue it. He is, as I predicted, doing grammar schools.

I've just tuned-in, and just heard a blaster of sound effects - a mooing sound - interspersed with talk of grammar schools. The whole thing doesn't gel. All a bit skew whiff, reminiscent of 80's styled radio... I wish I could join the appreciation club.. I feel I'm missing something ... like a radio era?!?

I only lasted about 10 mins of Christo's replacement and he was dire.

Tony Christie was not the most talkative person was he? Probably due to the aforementioned style of questioning.
