The reason for quoting you chinnie in a previous post is because you used to back me up on Steve Allen 'outing' himself some 15 years ago. His 'status quo' has been queried recently, where are you when I need you?

Had a bit of a break from forum life, but it's good to be back. Thanks for your info and replies LBC fans.

Good grief no, not me. Haven't listened to more than 10 minutes of it since Iain Lee 'left'.

Whilst I remain delighted that Cristo has gone, this Matt is a real disappointment - yet another snivelling little liberal, overly sympathetic with various angst-ridden callers and their 'issues' (over which they're 'devastated'). It really does make me laugh when you hear people like JOB going on about the right wing media - no-one new seems to get a radio gig nowadays unless they're a regulation lib-leftist, condemning Trump on autopilot-speak and ignoring the negative cultural aspects of immigration, (with the possible exception of Katie.)

Come back Chinnie, you are much missed. You have a mischievous spirit, one of which I identify with - I try so hard in your absence not to be nauti-cal but can't help it! There's a lack of mirth on here.

Thank goodness for that, otherwise I could have been faced with a libel case on social media .

So there you are, Steve outed himself then went back in the closet to face his skeletons. A load of old bones, if truth be told!

^^^^^ Why can't SA deploy honesty? He wouldn't be ribbed so much on here. He's a parody, I get that, but he can't afford originality. Should we find him some more news material other than the red-tops? Might give him more of a diverse outlook, what do you think?

He can't be trusted, he has to weave in Katie Price etc

He reads out tat and that's his level.

At last, it's taken Abbott the best part of an hour to take a phonecall. I like Nick, but when he just rambles on (ukip, brexit) for about 40 mins.......zzzzzz

Thank you! I've found someone who doesn't like him! I woke up to him whining about the latest Trump news and my heart sank, I almost shouted Come Back Cristo and your big booming voice. Is he going to do this every week until November 8th? Yet another cry baby who gets all in a state if someone tries to give him an alternative view, and yes Matt, some people are going to disagree with you, so there's no need to keep reading out the same piece of news until you think they will agree with you.

Can't believe they've got rid of Cristo! Why has he gone - do we know?

Well based on what I've heard so far, this new one is an utter drip. Can't they realise that you need someone with a bit of oomph at this time in the morning... he's positively soporific.

The first hour discussing Trump gave such insight into him and his life... he must be the only man who has never heard men talk in the way Trump had... sheltered life doesn't even come close!

oh LBC, what have you done....

When a presenter leaves there always seems to be the presumption that LBC have 'got rid' of them. Most of the time it's the presenter's choice. They get another job, retire, or in the case of the late night ones, get fed up with the hours. I get the impression from what I read, here and on social media, that Cristo was both fed up with the hours and had found other work.

Morning all.

Precisely. He even admitted as much on Twitter. When someone jokingly asked if his departure had anything to do with him being late for his last LBC show, he acknowledged it was a factor.
I'm sure he wasn't sacked but just wanted to return to more socially acceptable hours.

On a separate note, I heard Lisa Aziz reading the news on Smooth FM yesterday. Very calm and placid. Nothing like the raucous banshee-like delivery so often heard on her LBC slot.

Cristo had 'oomph'?
Where did he keep it?

I've just read, online, that he is now producing Loose Women on ITV.

Whatever you think about JA's morals or intellect, he is a guaranteed good listen.
He was booked as the speaker at my childrens' school prize-giving, (many years ago obviously) before his misdemeanours had come to light. The police arrived at the venue to speak to him (or arrest him even) on the night. They allowed him to fulfill his duty of speaking, waiting outside for him to finish. It was one of the most inspirational and motivational speeches i have ever heard (and i sat through many during their school years) even though he must have known it would be his last for a time.
Very Sound of Music! We wondered if he would don a nun's habit and escape through the side door.

Had to switch Andrew Castle off this morning. All through the first hour he kept interrupting the conversation to mention Donald Trump's latest antics. Then just before eight o'clock it turned out this was going to be the subject of the next hour's debate so it was all hype.

To me that's just the lame-stream media doing their bit to add negative spin and influence things. Just like they did with Farage and the foreign HIV patients getting treatment on the NHS or the BBC with all their pro EU spin. It won't work it'll just attract more followers to the opposite view. The only people it will alienate are the people who would refuse to identify with that view anyway.

We're certainly of like mind on this Carolyn, but, then again, how could anyone other than the ridiculous JOB types find Matt 'listenable?' Another worrying aspect is that if the papers were reviewing a new presenter like this, you'd expect the Telegraph to provide an appropriate panning. The fact that Matt has been employed by that publication makes me wonder if it's going the same way as the Tory party whereby Cameron has rendered it not conservative at all!

What is the exact opposite of a "Do gooder" and whatever it is, does it describe you?

His demeanour was a mixture of distain and ridicule for Trump.

Donald Trump:
"And when your a star.....they let you do it. You can do anything."

I thought the attack on Trump was restrained in the circumstances.....and the circumstances are astonishing. We know that the world is full of Cave Men Misogynists. But to have one running for POTUS in 2016 is truly mind blowing. Unless of course....you are defending Donald Trump and his ilk. Surely not.

Matt Stadlen is an excellent interviewer. I think he is a great recruitment and would expect to see him promoted to a "better" slot soon.

I think you may be right in Christo's case G-S' but IT IS still the entertainment industry and that is full of luvvie darling speak. Everyone is always 'hugely excited ' about their next project for instance, and all the other nonsense cliches they always insist on, so I think more often it's a cover up to retain the perogative.

There's a similar debate going on over on the Broadcasting forum over Eammon Holmes announcing his departure from the breakfast show on Sky News TV station. Is it his decision or is it to do with all the cuts and changes going on at Sky at the moment? It's well known that Eammon has a gruelling work load.
