Good afternoon,
I can usually be found listening to Julia Hartley-Brewer on TalkRadio, but I felt inclined to listen to the call Lily Allen made to LBC earlier today when it was flashed up on Facebook earlier.
It really was a quite extraordinary piece of desperate radio trolling by James O'Brien and their self-congratulatory, self-righteousness, privately educated mutual appreciation society made me laugh out loud. I expect Lily is most hopeful that she will sell a lot of copies of her new album to add to her $10m fortune on the back of her apology from Britain. She seems to come from the Charlotte Church school of political beliefs. James O'Brien will deserve a cut of the profits for so shamelessly helping with the promotion. It has really cheered me up though. Very, very funny.
The way his 'Epic' rants are presented on Facebook make him look naive in the extreme and extremely spiteful. I find his attacks on journalists most amusing though seeing as he appears to be nothing more than a left-wing Katie Hopkins spouting hate from the opposite end of the spectrum.
I certainly couldn't listen to three hours of that sort of radio. Julia is far from perfect but at least the show isn't all about her. Brian Hayes is only 78 years old, is it too late to have him return to the UK and replace the present rude incumbent?
On a more positive (but equally as amusing, for the right reasons) Nick Abbot presented a wonderful show last night and was hugely entertaining as were his callers, I'll be back for more tonight - C
