Farage had his chance to face JOB in the LBC studio (as I am sure you are aware). Farage has been at the forefront of UK Politics for the best part of 20 years and yet JOB wiped the floor with him.

UKIP literally threw in the towel to stop the interview after 19 minutes!
Do I need to show you the interview?

How many journalists/presenters can you name that can do that to Farage?

Is it a very short list?

Now you know why JOB is presenting Newsnight.

I'll think you'll find there was a referemdum in June in which majority of people voted to leave the European Union ..... It was fair and it was democratic. That's all they need to consider.

I voted Remain but I am sick of hearing that Brexiteers didn't know what they were doing and have no idea of the consequences of their actions. I am also sick of rich, business types trying to over rule what has been voted for because they haven't got their own way.

It is patronising and immoral.

No.
The majority of the electorate did not vote brexit.
The electorate of the UK is around 44 million so out of that figure a minority voted to leave.
This is going to be a tortuous process as at the first step the government have found themselves on the wrong side of a judicial hearing. It doesn't bode well for the future does it?

If you think a radio shock-jock spending every single second of a live radio interview with a politician personally insulting and lambasting him while the politician himself refuses to lower himself to the same level and just sits there listening only trying to answer back properly is wiping the floor with him then you have a strange idea on how radio interviews with politicians should be conducted.

Spin it any way you like Bangla, but there was an referendum.

There was a 72% percent turn out and that is very high. I think it's fairly indicative of how the country feels. The 28% of the electorate that couldn't be arsed to vote don't deserve to complain if it didn't go the way they wanted.

I just think it's too early for anyone to claim a victory. It hasn't changed the result of the referendum just delayed the implementation of it.

It's all a mess.

BIB. Ah yes, one of J O'B's arguments. However, those that didn't vote couldn't be enforced to do so, unless of course 'democracy' has walked out the door, and a dictatorship has walked back in?

First of all.....a Shock Jock is a someone pretending to have outrageous or controversial views. Katy may be a Shock Jock. (I certainly hope so because the alternative explanation is horrific).

You seem to be suggesting that Farage succumbed to the most humiliating interview of his whole career because he is too polite.
This is funny. Farage is an aggressive bully who finally bit off more than he could chew.
He was asked what the difference was between having a Romanian family and a German one as neighbours.
Farage replied: "You know what the difference is".
Is there an explanation for this astonishing reply other than: Nigel Farage is absolutely repulsive??

Farage was also asked about "feeling uncomfortable" on hearing people on the train not speaking English. He is asked if his German wife happens to speak German when she chats to her relatives. Farage is struggling.

This is now a "Car Crash" interview and is reported as such across the media.
You have not disputed that Patrick O'Flynn rushes into shot to say the interview has "massively" overrun.......after 19 minutes.......LOL........a fact clearly unknown to Farage who tries to continue.

A political interview is not a kindergarten. You have clearly not been watching Newsnight for the past 20 years......

I concede that you make a good point there but not sure if his methods are to be applauded. Sometimes it's like the playground fight where one boy will want to hold and wrestle while the other is willing to stamp on his opponents face and will always be the winner. NF Is always very polite, JOB is not always polite. As you say it was UKIP that threw in the towel, not NF.
Going back to the BBC, how many of the "journalists" they employ, regularly call politicians silly names and are consistently rude and cut off their contributors when it starts going wrong, I can only name one and his name does not start with P.

Obviously you were politically biased in seeing James rule triumphant in that interview. Not so engaged myself one way or t'other, I saw a red-faced bully boy, like a Pit Bull Terrier diving in to demonise his interviewee. "Farridge" was actually referring to Romanian 'travellers'/gypsies, those of which were living rough in London at the time. The reality check is, James wouldn't like travellers living next door to him. His 'little girls' are the reason he's given for moving to his prime address. So forget his book/pamphlet on "Love Thy Neighbour" titled from his interview with "Farridge". Your 10am presenter is just a tad hypocritical - he suits himself on radio.

I'm not claiming a victory, far from it but what it has done is show that our government really are going into this blindfolded and that the are plenty problems ahead.
Why some people didn't vote is not important Maybe they felt they didn't know enough to make a choice of such importance.

Democracy means that you have the absolute right not to vote.
You mention a dictatorship walking in. One of the things a dictatorship does is bypass parliament which our judicial system ruled today was wrong.

Farage is always polite?
Do me a favour!
He stands there at the eu parliament insulting fellow members and is paid a lot of public money to do so.

Well said. I get infuriated every time JOB misrepresents Farage regarding that 'interview'. What I find worse is that he (JOB) wrote a lengthy piece about the interview for the Daily Mail that was published the next day - a newspaper that he ridicules on a daily basis. `

Playing devils advocate Bangla, perhaps Farage is playing out his own convictions in insulting the austere, non-negotiable frozen faces of EU officials. Although I'm far from being a fan of his, as you know, I don't like to make automatic assumptions.

Maybe that was the best way JOB had to get his view into the DM.
Bit like Farage going to the eu parliament to insult and obstruct.

Bangla, Farage seems to be occupying you, overly so. Please lie down on a pillow with calming lavender oils, or recourse to bloody Grey Goose, J O'B's special!

Just responding to posts I read. Honestly, check back and see for yourself (if you can bear to)
As for posters being occupied overly with lbc presenters then I surely am way down the watch list
