Really, this odd complaint of yours could apply to any presenter on LBC who takes a position on any story to provoke discussion. Which is at the start of nearly every hour in the day!

So why single out just this one? Other than your well documented personal dislike of James O'Brien, and the presumption that you are characterized in the group he described?”

The relevant section actually reads "Presenter Phone-ins must encourage and must not exclude alternative views"
Can you honestly, hand on heart, describe JOB's behaviour encourages and does not exclude alternative views. Taking a call from an alternative view who you then ridicule and finally cut off does not fulfill this requirement.
Try listening to Ian Dale and you will understand how it should be done.

We shall find out in due course if what you say is correct or not.
No doubt the wrath of ofcom will be unleashed on JOB soon enough after receiving the complaint from Chief_Wiggum

What do you think the outcome will be?

Didn't you complain about the show being unbalanced?
Just backing up your claim.

I'm a big fan of Iain Dale.

Any number of alternative views are aired each day. James O'Brien has several each day, (let's part as friends!) as well as dismissing the ones who just want to rant without reason.
You might not like how the presenter deals with them, but they are aired.

If Chief Wiggum really felt strongly about this he'd also be complaining about Nick Ferrari's 'Right, we'll do it this way' technique where he fades out the caller so he can talk.

But it would be an equally ludicrous complaint.

I did. But you spoke of an 'unbalanced call', whatever that means, which was nothing to do with my post.

Is O'Brien getting some sort of sexual kick out of slagging Trump off? It's really bizarre how obsessed he is with Trump.

He just can't stop repeating the same things over and over again. And over again.

What a train wreck O'Brien is.

I think complaining to Ofcom about O'Brien would be very silly.

That said, the way he treats callers is incredibly biased. If you agree with him, he won't ask you to justify why you agree with him. All you need to do is repeat what he's already said and you'll get along just fine. If you disagree with him, he will treat the call like a hostile interview with a battle-hardened politician and subject you to interrogation and multiple interruptions. Many times I've heard him cut callers off before they've even managed to make their point.

I dislike both candidates equally, for different reasons. It would be nice for O'Brien - or anyone really - to subject Hillary to the same level of scrutiny and criticism as Trump.

Now where have I encountered this before?
A person being continually sagged off and often it's the same thing being said.
Sexual kick you say?
Aye it's a tricky one to recall where I've seen examples of the behaviour you describe and dislike.

JOB is urging listeners to phone if they disagree with him.

If you want to understand what is likely to attract the interest of OFCOM/BSC, why don't you (and others) research their investigation of a complaint against Nick Ferrari in 2003 (upheld) or their 2015 investigation of Nick Ferrari.

My favourite LBC presenters are Clive Bull and Nick Abbott. That covers weekends and week days, so I've got someone to listen to every night.

Surely the wisdom of the Trump team.....of pushing his phone/tablet just out of reach because Trump lacks the emotional intelligence to go online at 3am....or at any other moment.....needs to be repeated as often as possible.

He seems to like saying 'vagina' a lot

I do wish O'Brien would dispense with his tedious 15 minute monologues each morning.
I would rather him engage more with his callers than bore us with his musings. It's bad enough the conversation flow is broken up with travel news every 15 minutes but that's commercial radio for you.
I think he is the only presenter on LBC that does this.

J. O'B off again I hear. Very revealing if he is now using the V word and should he use that word at this time of the day, particularly if he is getting carried away again. Perhaps he suffers from some form of inadequacy and he has it in for Trump as he gets the girls because he's rich etc. etc?

I very much doubt it

Personally, I always make reference to anything that I disagree with, regarding my favourite presenters. After all, they are like us - none of them are perfect.

Not even Mr J'OB........who has an extraordinary obsession, today, with repeating the 'V' word

He has elected to do another hour on Trump. Is that by popular request ???

****Sighs*** ......Will any of the presenters be brave enough to tackle another topic, today?

Happy Tuesday to you All x

iain dale is not that different , other than you share his politics rather more than JoB's. in fact they all behave similarly with differing degrees of 'sophistication'.

ofcom are the firewall that keeps you away from the broadcasters. surely you knew this.

trump - because he is the frontman to some very hardcore fascists in the back-room. hilary's backroom is full of neocon/neolib/zionists. theres not much between them.

15 minutes to get the calls screened , in queue ready for broadcast

I've been away for a couple of weeks and i can barely believe how JO'B daft this place has got in my absence. All this fuss! Oh my word!

Several years ago, when i started my current job meaning i was home during weekdays i tuned in to LBC and heard this O'Brien bloke on in mid morning. My best friend at high school (now sadly deceased: my friend that is, not the school) was called O'Brien, too so I gave James of that ilk a few goes and quickly realised that his programme wasn't really my cup of tea so i just moved on elsewhere. I got drawn into this discussion a few weeks ago when, suddenly, clips of him started appearing on my facebook feed as clickbait. JO'B quoting Mein Kampf and passing it off as government policy, destroying a thicko caller who voted "Leave" in the referendum, comparing Donald Trump to an infamous sex offender from the last century. I found it way over the top and said so on these pages.

Happily, i was able to trace the source of the facebook postings and blocked them. Hey presto! I'm now J'OB free once again! Apart from when i browse here of course.

I don't like his programme and his broadcasting style is definitely not my cup of tea, but i've never met the guy so can't comment on what he's like as a person. I wouldn't report him to OFCOM and i certainly wouldn't try to get him the sack! At the end of the day, whether or not LBC employ him is up to them. Unlike the old days when we only had Light, Home or Third to choose from, it's easy enough to move on. I don't see the point of listening to something that i know is going to annoy me and come on here just to moan about it.

People, just find something else to do at 10 O'clock in the mornings. It's not hard. Lord knows if someone like me can manage it then any Joe Soap can!

I don't listen to his show [and that's honest I am not one of Bangla's imaginary clandestine O'Brien listeners lol] but earlier I did see a video clip of O'Brien in full rant flow, it has left me wondering if he is actually MAD.
