Occasional LBC presenter Nigel Farage will have some of his bestest chums tagging along with him to the Supreme court next month.

When Iain Dale and Nick Ferrari take calls, they allow the callers to express views alternative to their own. One of Ferrari's catchphrases is when, having had a discussion with a caller whom he clearly disagrees with, he says "well, it's a view" and then continues.

There is a difference between challenging callers in strong terms (arguing the points they make, having a heated discussion) which is what Nick Ferrari and Iain Dale do with some of the callers they disagree with, and being outright disgustingly rude to people of a different view, like James O'Brien.

O'Brien can't cope with alternative viewpoints, and refuses to have them on his show these days without belittling them and mocking them.
Absolutely right. Ian Dale and NF will disagree with callers, but usually end on an amicable note. JOB is just arrogant and snotty. If he can't "beat" someone, he will ask them to quote an Act or Article verbatim. If they can't do that he will say "so you are arguing about something and you don't know the relevant legislation." It shows what a pathetic, egocentric worm he is.

So what?
I didn't say he never did it but that he doesn't do it all the time as chief claimed.
J O'B does have his good moments Bangla without a shadow of a doubt.
The trouble is, currently, his good moments are outweighed by the.. bad. Remember, the route of feistiness/aggressiveness is something James has hit upon and developed in recent times. The previous more authentic version of his persona on radio has steadily walked out of the back door. A shame to my of thinking because he is clever but, sometimes too clever for his own good - his childlike ego gets in the way whereby it's hard to take him seriously, IMO.

Oh I know he can be a pompous git and smug and all the rest of it but he does balance this out when he gets a caller who can offer the alternative view in an intellegence manner.
So many of the ones he dumps just haven't grasped what the question was or are parroting some rubbish which he has already countered with those facts he keeps banging on about.
LBC would be mad to get rid of him as is evidenced on this thread, he causes more comment than the rest of the lineup combined.
I do come across as thinking he can do no wrong but that's not the case, just giving an alternate view.
Look at some of the things that have been posted here last two days.
He's been called "filth" and insinuations of being some sort of sexual deviant.
Dunno for sure if those posters were being serious but looking at their previous contributions you would have to say yes they are deadly serious.
Anyways that's too long a post as it is and as we are told so many times on here Switch off atv10am"

ID had just retweeted an LBC link to his interview with Harvey Proctor. Described as 'heartbreaking' , the man broke down at the end after telling us how his life had been destroyed by the wrongful accusation.

A shocking story, shame on LBC using it as clickbait and making us sit through an ad for Santander. They're a commercial enterprise but this left a nasty taste.

I think the LBC thread should be renamed "Mike Rackabits thoughts on James O'Brien" . (What a genius idea of mine, I'm sure it hasn't been done before), because, frankly all it is now is a clique of about 7 or 8 daily mail clones against a bloke who's got an audience of 800.000.

Are those parties illegal?

I think that UKIP are the only party that ban BNP members from membership - including the SNP I am lead to believe.

So you are one of 800,000 - I am one of 8.

I know the names of my friends

Wasn't it Mike Rackabit that thought O'Brien would one day have a complete meltdown on-air?

What's up Doc? Just one reflection, and somehow it's brought you out in a rash. Have you tried Camaline Lotion?

If I were to listen to NF every morning I am certain there would be no problem making 2 or 3 posts every day pointing out his sarcastic muttering over the top of many, many calls.
Or speculating about his precarious position with OFCOM (he is on a Yellow Card......obviously. Will it be Red sometime soon?)

What are posters finding annoying about JOB?
Maybe the fact that he is right?
Farage is a Hypocrite. The examples given are the Dictionary Definition of that word.
Brexiteers have voted to make themselves poorer.
Trump is a Misogynistic Racist who is currently not allowed internet access because he is emotionally unstable around Keys. And Buttons.

You could be devoid on overlooking J O'B's slightly over the top presenting style where most people would find themselves decidedly cautioned !!!
There are no engaging subtleties to get listeners onside to listen to J O'B's alternative views without reeling in the process on his oversized self-appreciation monologues to his show.

How do you get from Snowy Ghost saying evening all to that reply? You do not even have the manners to wish her a good evening back!

JOB has his own version of 'selection' for schools does he not? His self confessed move to a posher area to get better schools for his girls is a form of selection, but only for those with money.

Can someone tell me how this sits with his hatred of selection in the grammar school system, which is based on intelligence?

Yes but he feels guilt over his education, wealth and lifestyle so that's how he squares it with himself. Can you not hear the anguish during his monologues?

It wasn't meant to be a reply to SG. Just an observation on the general state of things. My error.
