I was thinking of the 'electorate', not Trump. More an anti-establishment protest vote, in reality.

Rubbery and cork walls , can you elaborate?

Ian Collins is saying of the dangers in whipping up hatred in discussing hate crimes. Yet, he's leading the topic as though immune from his own debate ...... !

The walls are usually covered with cork crumb filled pouches made of strong canvas or leather, which is then covered with rubberized paint. The floor is covered in leather and the door is made of very strong wood . The door has no knob or handle on the inside !!!

So where am I ?

Is it just me or does anyone else thing that Steve sunk to new depths by stealing a diary that someone left on a desk in the newsroom and reading out chunks of it while taking the p**s out of the unidentified owner?

Sounds like a sackable offence to me.

I woke up overnight and switched on Steve for a few minutes. He really does motor through topics (nothing controversial), he says one thing and then straight into another. Where does he find all the information to talk about ? It can't all be from the newspapers.

One thing I did agree with him about - he can't stand runny eggs. Nor can I !

It's hard to think that he could sink much lower than his usual standard, but he also referred to the episode as, to paraphrase: 'Reading from that diary took up 15 minutes. That's a sign of a clever presenter.'
A very strange man.

Could he have been making the whole thing up?

I'm no Sigmund Freud, Martin, but I think when you're as self-referential and narcissistic as Steve is, you have a running commentary going on constantly inside your head, with much repetition. He just verbalises that commentary as a stream of consciousness, augmented with superficial tabloid topics of the day.
Meanwhile, he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Wasn't JOB's diary was it? Did it mention anything about cutting off callers or shouting them down?

Or me. Mind you, I don't like them cremated either.

I see they have let you out of your padded cell for the day. Should we be worried?

Perhaps that's how Steve has managed to hang on to his job for so long - reading diaries and finding out where the bodies are (figuratively) buried.

More proof yet today that doing an interview with Steve grants you immunity from future sniping. Carol Vorderman was displaying a more than ample embonpoint on last night's show, this was completely overlooked in the rush to criticise Ola Jordan for showing far less.
