No he doesn't. If I see you in the same room as Robert Mugabe I may decide that you support him....just because I say so.

Corbyn regrets the use of the word "friends" when welcoming guests and visitors to a meeting in the HOC. And has apologised.
He regrets giving dim critics..... who lack nuance.... a chance to make cheap and crass attacks.

My comments were about the Right and the wonderful things they have done.
Trump is President Elect.

My mother suffered from a heart problem a few years back and went to the local hospital. The doctor she saw said she needed treatment in the main unit in Granada and would contact the Consultant there. She thanked him and asked how long it would be, expecting the usual UK answer of 'a few months'.

He said to her 'I'll ring him now'. He did so and after a conversation said 'Can you go on Friday?'

Ah, so if you regret saying something and apologise then you are absolved. Nuremburg was not needed then.

President elect means you are not in power when I last looked.

Unfortunately for you I do understand nuance and if you insult me once more, I will report you.

Quite right. I have non-French friends who live in France, where the medical services are excellent. You have to register with the authorities which requires evidence of a tax declaration in France, residence, identity document, and contribution record. You receive a medical card which you must produce to obtain free or reimbursed treatment. You can also pay a top-up medical insurance if you wish. If you have no documents you'll get emergency treatment and a bill. The system works, is computerised from GP to specialist to clinic and hospital. Why in the name of goodness can't the British adopt similar procedures instead of just whining? It's beyond me.

You don't like personal insults but a couple of hours ago you called me unhinged.
Just a wee bit hypocritical Mou Mou?

If something is free then no value is placed upon it.......the free Metro newspaper for instance. They are discarded everywhere by readers. How many copies of the Telegraph, Times or Guardian are left on train seats? Also, the fact that plastic shopping bags are no longer free has led to a drastic reduction in their use. Because the NHS is free some people don't turn up for appointments whilst others don't bother to learn English and rely instead on the free translator service.

No problem.
Sometimes it's too easy to get all het up over posts on a forum that only a few dozen folk will ever see.
AFAIC the day that most agree with me on here is the day that I have a serious look at myself and work out where it all went wrong

Well, if I got it wrong it's because JOB did. He told us (ad nauseam) that the person speaking has been appointed as Trumps's policy advisor in the forthcoming regime. For all I know there could be one of these or five-hundred of them, and depending on that we could form our own opinions as to how much weight the POV expressed in the speech might influence or reflect those of the President-elect.

Yeah, i know who Bannon is. I also know who he isn't. Modern "nazism" exists only as either a lifestyle choice or a convenient label to stick on racist nutters. If the likes of Bannon and his ilk had ever had to confront a real Nazi they would've wet themselves.

JOB said nothing of the sort.
Your account of what he said is fiction.

Just for the record, BR, I nearly always agree with you - except for one rare exception - but that was more to do with protocol than principle.

Great idea fb, but be careful you are not accused of being in the LBC Clique!

I like a good sense of humour to lighten up what can be a very serious thread on a very political (these days) radio station. One of the reasons an LBC Politics thread was set up is so people may continue their serious discussions of the Politics mentioned on the shows in detail in a dedicated thread.

I long for the return of the Fix it Phone in and Murder at Midnight, but it ain't going to happen soon. I do find myself listening to LBC far less than I used to these days.

Indeed Chin, indeed.
I never heard Fix it phone-in or Murder @ Midnight, maybe before LBC went National d.a.b.?
I only really tune into Steve or Nick Abbot.

Indeed fb you are correct. The older versions of the station were more like the DAB TalkRadio with a mix of news and information/entertainment. More of a magazine format.

Well, it's pretty lacking in a bit of light entertainment these days Chin. Non stop Brexit & Trump, even Abbot's obsessed with it.

I'm glad you correspond with the bedding/duvet issue. I have yet to master the art!
I can see, somehow, you're both bedfellows in your political views. Nothing wrong in that I may add. Where sometimes taking, say, the political message out of what a presenter says, can cause disruption because some of us become unstuck on how the message is delivered! I'm open-minded but often 'the message' put across is outweighed by hyperbole and spin.
To precis, I'm often left aghast of how often the limitations are shown by LBC/media, in mentioning Nazi/s , Hitler, as a term of regular use as though needing desperately to make a impact when, many other historic references of this time period could be used instead. The need for hyperbole, (inflammatory talk) to sell a talking point - more poignantly serving Fleet Street - leaves me adamant in not signing up to media brain-washing techniques. I go on what friends and folk around me are experiencing, in the form of actual truths, and how they're fixed with the government setbacks.
