JOB outdid himself this morning. A 20 minute rant about the conviction of Jo Cox's murderer being put on page 30 of the Mail instead of its front page. He's also implying that stories ran by the Mail are partly to blame for Cox's murder. If he's good at one thing, it's laying the bait.

Do you go around with a billboard advertising political propaganda? I could find a footstool/instead of pedestal if you can't find a bigger soap-box elsewhere.
Iain Dale was so right about you. Please restrain your comments to a political forum rather than this LBC chit-chat thread, if you can! isnt mair 'political'? isnt ukip 'political', isnt having islamophobe kthopkins and the "anti muslim extremist" (southern poverty law centre) maajid nawaz political? Quote:
Iain Collins has just argued that the reason Tommy Mair shouldn't be considered a far-right terrorist is that there isn't a co-ordinated far-right terrorist movement. If he was an Islamist he could be called a terrorist because there is a wider global Islamist terrorist movement.
That was a strange first hour. |

You're missing out Bangla ... ![]() I think that listening to weapons grade gibberish early morning would just about have my phone flying out the window. Shall stick to posting WG gibberish rather than listening to it. Much more fun

it is grooming , they are hate preachers its unsurprising that some are radicalised to dreaming of a race war against muslims. lbc has its role within that radicalising effort. Quote:
A very revealing confession from James O'Brien this morning in his opening monologue. If he was still Showbiz Editor of the Daily Express he would be trying to climb the greasy pole and would be dreaming of a job at the Daily Mail.

It's a very good question that JOB asked.
There is still an ongoing police investigation into who supplied Mair with the gun. As the judge said there is no doubt that white supremacy played a part. We shall learn more in due course. |

The judge chose to use the term 'white supremacy' but most of the MSM go with 'neo-nazi' or 'right-wing extremist', which I think are more appropriate and more generally used in this country. White supremacist implies a bias against just black people whereas Mair objected to Jo Cox being in favour of 'immigration', which these days is as likely to be from east Europe as from further afield.

You have to consider the links between Mair and extreme white supremacist groups in South Africa.

I'm not a type, nor a dictator. Look to yourself, if you need confirmation.
This is chit-chat forum which you ignore for propaganda purposes. its only propaganda to you because what i am against is what youre for. no big deal. lbc is a political radio station, it is not some light entertainment based broadcaster. it happens to be predominently right wing, ukip, trump led. (nick abbot and on occassion - as today - JoB are the only presenters who dont stick to the script). |

Apart from that, there's a distinct style when someone is soapboxing, promoting their own causes.

With regard to the current theme - which is now well into it's second hour - obviously I approve.
I will say - once again - that the only possible response of a sane person - to the Daily Mail - is relentless heavy sarcasm. 2 hours is not enough. My sister reads the Daily Mail. I sometimes try to reason with her but it is better that we avoid the topic, because heavy sarcasm can create tension in families. |

was listening to ian collins last night and thought maybe ian collins should be on a prevent watchlist ... because interestingly ian collins stated that ISIS has a legitimate grievance and is why they are called terrorists.
this as he was arguing against calling thomas mair a far right terrorist radicalised by the lies of ukip and britain first. |

I am a relatively new listener to LBC,and do enjoy getting cross with the presenters and lots of the callers.
With the exception of Nick A and James O ,it still sounds like the Daily Mail on radio to me. I think James is spot on today about the DM |

He is ghastly
A ghastly man pretending to be a chatty "reasonable" talk show bloke. The speed with which the toys come out of the pram when tweeters rumble him says it all really. I have much more respect for Andrew Pierce who is not hiding his right wing position or his feisty attitude and works very hard to balance this by listening to callers and by giving opposing views some time and respect. |

Had never heard the hoax claims about the murder of Jo Cox til JOB mentioned it today.
Like a total idiot I googled and he wasn't making it up. Mind you I suppose if people who never met Mair can go public and state that their diagnosis should be believed rather than the verdict of those who examined him then claiming it was a hoax is just a few more steps into the darkness. I won't inflict the links onto this thread but they are easily found. |

With the exception of Nick A and James O ,it still sounds like the Daily Mail on radio to me. I think James is spot on today about the DM It would almost seem as if the giant behemoth of the so-called MSM is slowly waking up to the monster they have created over the years, accelerated and exacerbated by Social Media. As I see it, here are some of the potential pitfalls and dangers of journalism: 1. A journalist operates under a repressive regime, so can only write what they're allowed/instructed to write. 2. A journalist operates under a system of Capitalism, where the journalist has e.g. 'a wife and two kids to support' (this was very much O'Brien's claim) and therefore will agree to write from an agenda. This would be illustrated by O'Brien's 'greasy pole' analogy. 'I'm writing for the Daily Express, but I'm offered the chance of writing for the Daily Mail. I don't agree with their style/slant but hey - I'm ambitious'. 3. A journalist can have personal integrity, and reports news as facts rather than editorialised opinion, but those facts are selective, and are only selected to reinforce a certain point of view/agenda. The latter occurs on this thread a lot, even though the contributors are not journalists. |
