As I heard it, Robinson phoned in as 'Stephen' and JOB started the call by explaining to the listeners that Stephen was better known as Tommy Robinson. That's how it came over to me, from TR's reaction to that introduction. I don't think JOB was doing anything other than using the name TR chose to ring in under.

Never thought I would say it but well done Shelagh for highlighting the anomaly that we ladies of a certain age have suffered re our state pension.

TBF to Steve, I honestly don't think his ambition has ever been more than a comfortable job with a decent wage. He knows his limitations. He says he doesn't want to work on TV and I believe him. He did that magazine show for Channel 5 when it first opened and he never looked particularly comfortable - a bit 'rabbit caught in headlights'! And he gets away with stuff on LBC which had the BBC reprimanding and/or booting out Evans, Everett, Blackburn and more recently, Iain Lee.

Haven't heard too much about The Radio Tines vote recently, is it over? Last thing I heard him say was that nearly all the other nominees work for the BBC and imply that there is probably some sort of fix in place to make sure one of them win.

Lennon is known for his ott exaggeration of issues. JoB picked on him to get to his real experience as opposed to his tabloid - far right gossip. it's part of JoB's broadcasting style which is not that different from Nick Ferrari's.

Ian Collins often allows ugly commentary from callers, hardly challenges, often endorsing through his unwillingness to correct facts. he gets a regular nightly 5 minute rant from scouser paul (nuttall?) pushing his ukip wisdom.

overall theres not much of a style difference between lbc presenters, there doesnt need to be as their audience reflect, in the main their agenda.


its nonsense to claim a 24/7 station where the opinionated presenters run their agenda - mostly far right tory - ukip-lalaland fantasies - are balanced by the callers.

politically its an ugly station.

To say that presenters on LBC are far-right is ridiculous. The majority come across as right-wing, but that reflects the electorate. As they are a commercial station, they are going to try to reach the largest possible audience.

Perhaps you should listen to a radio station that fits your agenda and political viewpoint, if you can find one. It could make you much happier.

Vanessa on BBC London made a passing remark that because this was budget day, they were limited as to what they could talk about (and discussed light-hearted topics today).

I hadn't realised that budget day was a period of purdah, and I wondered if LBC had steered away from certain topics in the same way, so far this morning.

J O'B is discussing academy schools, which is one of the big features of the Chancellor's statement. Surely purdah only happens in the lead-up to elections, and then only applies to polticians, apart from polling day, when nobody on radio/TV is allowed to mention it. Perhaps Vanessa meant there was no point in discussing what, at the moment, is largely speculation.

Yes, the BIB is what I thought. I ask because the way Vanessa phrased it did very much make it sound as if they were restricted and not by choice.

Weird callers to Ian. First chap seemed to be complaining about saving £60,000 pa followed by a lady complaining about something she thought she was going to hear in the Budget but didn't.

O'Brien was very annoying this morning. I can listen to Ferrari from 7am-10am no problem but with O'Brien is all depends what kind of mood I am in whether I stay tuned to LBC or I switch over, or off.

O'Brien was doing his usual not sure, bit confused act, followed by the dreary I have two daughters routine - but, oddly, I don't think he mentioned he was 44.

But what really got me annoyed is when O'Brien brags about how 'popular' he is and how he works for other media organisations 'far more highbrow' than LBC. Jeez, you couldn't make it up, could you. The man is unbearable.
