He neither approves of Harry's new lady love - nor of his misrepresentation of the Queen, by not wearing a tie, during his Caribbean tour ![]() Nobody complains about Steve's politics. Everything else...but not his politics !! I must confess to having a slight headache, after reading the numerous posts, since yesterday. That's not fair ! You added the question after you previously posted your response.

With regard to the current theme - which is now well into it's second hour - obviously I approve.
I will say - once again - that the only possible response of a sane person - to the Daily Mail - is relentless heavy sarcasm. 2 hours is not enough. My sister reads the Daily Mail. I sometimes try to reason with her but it is better that we avoid the topic, because heavy sarcasm can create tension in families. |

I had not seen that before, but it is a great parody, indeed parody might be too strong a word.

Let her read what paper she likes who are you to judge her? If you don't read it yourself how do you know what it prints?
I am familiar with the Mail but I don't want to read it regularly. I saw Steven Glover on Newsnight trying to blame the Anti High Court Judge Headline on......Headline Writers. Something is terribly wrong if experienced journalists are told to write articles that match a headline which is chosen for its Cartoon value. |

The Daily Mail will be more concerned how Steven Glover and many others are going to defend today's astonishing no show Front Page without squirming and without Olympic Class Denying. For Little England.
They have no more hope of defending this position than several regulars on this thread who have already abandoned the possibility. |

Why should any newspaper in a free country have to 'defend' its content or editorial decision ?
My perception is that Steven Glover could not defend the editorial decision of his employer when he appeared on Newsnight and he was literally squirming in his seat. |

I am not "judging" choice of reading. Reasoning with someone involves getting back as much as you are throwing. Sometimes more if you have met my Sister.

Looks like the Daily Mail have managed to blame immigrants for the killing of Jo Cox.
Hope JOB does some more on this paper and the poison it spreads. Don't read the comments without preparing yourself for some real hate. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-help-him.html |

Why do you read a newspaper when you despise it so much......or maybe you just comb it's pages with the intention of seeking offence

Never having heard of him, I googled him and I presume you mean Stephen Glover the journalist, as opposed to Steven Glover the stunt performer / comedian !
My apologies to Stephen. I want to be clear that he went up (slightly) in my estimation when he was reluctant to endorse a Daily Mail front page. I put all the blame on Paul Dacre. I blame Paul Dacre for the 4 year attack on Ed Miliband's face which - to me - looks like the face of many other young(ish) men of Polish/Jewish extraction. |

Reading opposing points of view is often more informative than reading those that support one's own.
'Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer' to quote the old adage. Links appear to stories from all over the world. Maybe some folk are not quite up to speed and imagine that everyone reads a paper cover to cover like in the olden days. |

Out of curiosity I have looked at the mail coverage of this story and nowhere can I see where the blame for Jo Cox's murder is blamed on immigrants. Unless of course we are talking of mail on line which I have not looked at.
It was also the budget yesterday of course they would lead with that it is not as though this murder happened yesterday we knew pretty much everything at the time. The trial was simply following the law ,in reality how could Mair be found anything but guilty or be given anything else but a full life sentence. Some people may still feel that it should be front page news in spite of the financial news but to create all this furore because it wasn't is way over the top. |

One verdict was all over the front page, the other verdict was buried on page 30. Discerning people may well ask why the disparity |

It's how social media works.
Links appear to stories from all over the world. Maybe some folk are not quite up to speed and imagine that everyone reads a paper cover to cover like in the olden days. It centred on Beles, Central Macedonia. |

Compare and contrast the coverage the Mail gave to the sentencing of the killers of Lee Rugby and the killer of Jo Cox.

It is possible the disparity was because on this occasion the budget was the lead topic as it always is. You know they always give pages to the budget.
There were lots of stories beside the budget given prominence. Do you think if Mair had shouted Allah akbar instead of Britain First when he was commuting murder the Mail would have the story on page 30? |
