I can understand your concern about your MP attending sessions in Parliament.
With the infamous sex scandals related on this forum, I can't help but think, him/her could otherwise be waylaid,

Because I was the only female on my team for a long time I sort of became 'one of lads' so to speak and they used to speak fairly robustly infront of me but it was all bravado for the most part and I wouldn't stand for any [i]real[/i ]misogyny. You see plenty of women doing exactly the same thing - just watch Loose Women. Could you imagine if there was a panel of men on a TV show talking the way they do about guys?

Anyway, it's just how I feel. I just can't get wound up by it.”

I was brought up as the only girl in a household of sports mad older brothers, I suppose I have som Tomboy tendencies. I too have always worked in male dominated environments. I drink wine, but I have drunk pints, I ride a motorbike and leathers, but I like wearing feminine clothes, I like sport.
A colleague said to me "you think like a man", I said to him "No......I understand HOW men think, which is a subtle difference"

How accomplished are you in having to say as much? I don't need to .... always being a Tomboy, I have absolutely nothing to prove.

Great to have some honesty and get away from the PC stuff, I think what you have said is real life.
My brother in law plays and watches rugby, when he gets engaged in a game he get shouty and the f***s are flying out but at home he is very peaceful, the typical family man and would never dream of using the word.
His wife has confronted him many times over this, but he sees no problem in acting differently in different circumstances. We all do it to some extent.

Fine, I fully endorse the non-pc stuff, bring it on is what I say . However, the sweaty rugby/sporty types, are on the whole, a little too testosterone-orientated to interact well with women folk. They wouldn't know the 'fem' side, if it hit them in the face.

Taking synthetic offence when it's evident that none is intended is surely more impolite than using a politically incorrect phrase in error.

Please explain? BTW, I'm far from the numbskull, sheep following, politically correct type, on principle. Anything other, is representative of superficial fawning, methinks.

I don't think it it has been mentioned previously , but this week's edition of Radio Times, features, everybody's favourite, James O'B as 'Face behind the voice'.

If you don't normally buy it, go and browse at your favourite newsagent !

Shelagh Fogarty on Celebrity Mastermind this evening (BBC1 5.10pm) It's a repeat but I can't remember how she got on. Hopefully better than J O'B. She's answering questions on Pope John Paul 2. .

Does anyone else find the RSPCA ad annoying? It is a good cause, but I think the message is getting lost in confusion.

It starts off by suggesting you donate £3 by sending a text message. It will cost £3 plus your network charges. Slight pause. RSPCA is a registered charity. Charity number .... Followed by saying if you wish to discuss this ring ..... It then tells you will receive marketing messages and you can send another text to another number to opt out. Now what was the original number?!

Agreed! - I'd imagine it gets even more interesting (annoying) if you go ahead, make a donation, with marketing activated....

More importantly.... What did you think of Nick Abbot last night???
It almost felt like he was a changed man - I think 'someone' has had words... Have to see if it continues tonight...

I agree. Only listened for half an hour or so but will download it, which i havent done recently because he had become so whiney. Much more lighthearted and didn't hear the B word mentioned once.

We live in a world where suddenly a word or phrase is deemed offensive that wasn't the day before. No idea who decides this, but the desperate to be offended brigade light the torches. A few years ago Alan Hansen got in trouble for calling a black player 'coloured'. Completely unintentional but the pitchforks were out.
