JOB saying he's just signed a new contract with LBC.
Maybe that's what all the alleged "management having a word with him" was all about. Hope it doesn't spoil anyone's Christmas too much

Thanks Gurney but they've at last wound up the big brass handle and fired up the gas valves on the podcast machine at LBC Towers and Mrs Hopkins is now available to listen to as a full podcast so I'm gonna listen to the whole show in a bit.

Good. I shall grab both of those for listening to on the drive home tonight if Iain Dale is boring. I don't really need to hear about trouser gate again, again, in the media. It was a non story to start with. Though luckily I caught most of Andrew Pierce on Friday night before and after The Good Old Days episode on TV.

Presumably that means the much hoped for offer for regular TV work on Newsnight has never materialised?

But can you just imagine if you worked at Tescos and you had JO'B stacking shelves there too?.
![]() There you are working away on your own on the soap powder isle happy as Larry. ![]() Your just about to bang away a dozen boxes of Persil Non-Bio and you hear some silly s0d in the next isle stacking canned beans and peas moaning and groaning at the top of his voice about the customs union, EU free trade area and undisclosed tory plans. ![]() I'd be applying for a presenters job on the radio if it happened to me.

No need for him to do shelf stacking, he'd no doubt find a plum job in Savile Row as a bespoke tailor to the stars.

Why would you say that? He has managed to combine his radio and tv work together up till now.

I doubt if doing Newsnight 3 or 4 times a month when Kirsty Wark fancies a long weekend puts much of a strain on his schedule.
Tomorrow night? That is a bit weird. Newsnight have often had a 4th presenter. Some of you may recall the BBC trying our Eddie Mair who never seemed to settle into the role. I am now wondering if the JOB listeners who are not listening to JOB are also Newsnight viewers who are "not viewing". But.....more importantly......what is the actual current listening figure for JOB if 20% of Listeners are fibbing about Listening. Maybe a nice round figure??

LBC callers. PLEASE STOP SAYING "THANKS FOR TAKING MY CALL". it's a flipping epidemic on LBC. It's dull, boring and repetitive. JUST STOP IT.

By the way there's nowt' wrong with shelf stacking I did it myself as a youngster and we had the greatest, nicest, closest of workforces you could ever hope to be alongside.
I did it myself as a student 30 odd years ago but it was VERY different then. That was pre zero hours/flooded cheap labour markets! |
