Petrie's show has been rubbish today, just when you think she can't get any worse.....
Not been that good has it.

Never fear Tom Swarbrick is up next he is usually not a bad listen.

I only listened to the EU segment of her show, but she announced a topic about the winter Olympics in South Korea, and wanted to discuss whether the fact that some people ate dog meat there was a problem that 'we' had to do something unspecified about. Did she really go through with the topic ? It seemed just so bizarre ...

Did you catch his reports from Calais Richard? Excellent journalism I thought from TS.

Steve and Don have been friends for many years
Don knows exactly what he's like and handles him accordingly
And as this must be at least the fourth in conversation he's done with Steve he's obviously got no problem with him
That's very nice for both of them. Unfortunately it doesn't make it any more interesting for the listener.

Petrie's show has been rubbish today, just when you think she can't get any worse..... sorry, double post and no idea how to delete
You can't delete a post completely once sent, you do have about 10 minutes to edit your posts. If the edit button is still visible (in the bottom right-hand corner) you can go into your post, delete everything you have written and substitute with the words "double post" - or something along those lines.

Petrie did not mention 'Project Fear' in reply to Farage 's casual mention of Turkey's 70 million people being free to 'come over here' in case of Bremain. Clearly all scroungers just waiting to idle by on our benefits: http://twitter.com/conradhackett/sta...806276/photo/1

You got to laugh! Poor old Theo is spending Sunday afternoon hanging round outside the house of Boris. Hope he is on double time.

I never said it did
I was replying to the poster who was saying Don had put Steve in his place
Several celebs who have been in including Celia Imrie have known him for just as long and they tend to treat it as a chat with a friend
To be honest I think that the show suffers for two reasons
Firstly with some guests twenty odd minutes (with adverts and news removed ) isn't enough to even scratch the surface
And secondly since Global took control they don't allow music tracks or extracts of shows anymore something that made the programme more interesting
Many of the guests don't float my boat but it's still an oasis in the middle of politics and health issues that saturate the rest of the LBC schedule

So are the BBC (and I expect Sky!). I understood he is not going to make an official announcement till 10pm.

Earlier on this afternoon, the travel reporter greeted us with "good evening" - perhaps she can predict the traffic situation for later today!

From his twitter feed, this just about sums up Mr. Usherwood's weighty and in-depth political analysis:
"I voted for Britain to remain part of the EU because I didn't want to be charged the earth to download Pepper Pig on my iPad for my kids."

I shouted 'Noooooo' at the radio when I heard him say that !!

The thing is, there have been times when I have wanted to use the word 'discombobulated' because it was appropriate but I just can't say it anymore ...
Oh it's a good word I first heard it from my cousin but O'Brien has made it popular.
Sometimes it's a good fit. I often feel it when reading this thread.

That would be because they probably record the news bulletins for several hours and don't change them unless there is an important news story. The reporter would probably record "past 10, 11" etc., leaving the engineer to mix it in.

Listening to James O' Brien last week was bizarre. He seems to have brought his strongly held personal belief regarding religion, particularly Christian, and tried to spin it into a logical argument that couples with kids should always marry, and kids of divorced parents, or those who only have one parent be it through death etc, turn out to be worthless, more or less. And shoehorning his love for the Pope and his supporters into some bizarre argument about idiot Trump, that no one in their right mind would take seriously or is bothered about.
It has always struck me that his stint on LBC was some kind of ongoing audition for the BBC Newsnight job which he craves so deeply, so he needs to be seen as a "right on Lefty"
But he has to be a joke, he will close down any discussion/caller that he doesn't agree with, while fading them out and then insulting them when then are gone. He is one of the most unprofessional, biased DJs I've ever heard.
And that's all he is a DJ, not an open mined, professional journalist. He will only let callers who agree with him say their piece, but will instantly talk over sarcastically and then fade down those who aren't in agreement with his one sided myopic view of the world. I know he gets a lot ignorant hateful nuts calling his show, who should be screened and not let on air, but there are intelligent, interesting educated people who have a different point of view, who get on air. But in James' world though, they are all wrong and he's right.
Rude, arrogant and close minded, all in a days ratings/ranting for James.

"Phone now, you will get through"... To an idiot

Last weekend the jingle for Olly Mann's show repeatedly told us his programme was "coming up at 7" when it in fact started at 6! I think perhaps someone just selected the wrong jingle because his show does start at 7pm on Fridays but 6pm on Saturdays.

He's a presenter, not a DJ. DJs play records.
