Awwww ken and david disappeared
They have amended the schedules to current weekend schedules. I am sure that cannot be right. Does the webmaster not have the ear of the Head of Programmes?

Didn't feel well at all last night, so went to bed with the radio on.

Didn't fancy SPOTY, so went with LBC. Was nice hearing it again.

The breaks didn't seem that intrusive this time around, but I do want to shove Aled Jones' CD down his throat.

Let us hope that Nick doesn't get stuck on 'B' - swiftly moving onto, 'T'......
it has just been confirmed that Nick Abotts A-Z show will only include the letters B,F and T this year

That's an old joke. I already posted the same, ( minus the, F ) several days ago

Happy pre- Christmas Monday to you All x

Ps. I have contacted LBC to query why their Christmas schedule is not on the website !!

I was half asleep listening to Steve this morning. I'm sure he played a bit of a Gene Pitney record, if so, what was it?
Trans Canada Highway.

I've only got half an ear cocked to the JOB show this morning.........he seemed to constantly have telephone lines free wanting punters to call in to say how they will tell their grandchildren how/why they gave away their workers rights.
He seems to be making a number of desperate 'please call me' pleas!
Good luck with that one......easier to choose a new topic and move on.

Katie Hopkins has apologised to 2 men after suggesting they were extremists with links to Al Qaeda, when they made arrangements to visit Disneyland with their families.
The Mail Online has paid £150,000 in libel damages to the family.

http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/mail-o...remist-claims/

Did she ever repeat her claims during her LBC show?......just in case Ofcom are interested.

The problem with JOB is by the time he's finished listening to himself waffle on about what could be said in two minutes, people have lost the will to live. My hubby nearly phoned in last week but after waiting 18 minutes for home to stop preaching, he was so wound up, he'd forgotten OB's initial question.

Silly, silly man.

I see the defamed Muslim family employed the services of lawyers 'Carter-Ruck'....they certainly don't come cheap 😀
I think I'm right in that Princess Diana, Elton John, Jude Law, various political figures and the family of Madeleine McCann and the McCanns friends the so called 'Tapas 7' have utilised the services of this firm.
This case was a very small storm in an even smaller tea-cup.......it was certainly being used as chip paper the following day.

Exactly. The price of everything and the value of nothing applies very much to Steve. Generosity has a few definitions, it's not always about money, and why does he always have to tell us about how generous he is?
No, it's definitely not about the money. You can tell that when he regales us with his trips to the Harvester where it costs £79 for 11 people (or some such). You wouldn't get a deal like that in Joe Allen's.

This case was an example of Hopkins being caught out telling lies and spreading mistrust and hate.
Dunno why you want to focus on the lawyers of the victim but anything to deflect from the actions of the liar Hopkins.

The case was widely reported in the media;
1) The family were stopped from boarding their flight due to issues with US immigration.....true
2) There were concerns because one of the Mahmood brothers had been barred from entering Israel a few years previously........true
3) There was a Facebook page linked to someone called Hamza Mahmood, stated as living at that address with links to Al Qaeda and the Taliban.......true

Hopkins was re-quoting what the media had already reported, none of the above is untrue.
Carter-Ruck (or Carter *uck as Private Eye prefer to call them) are known specialists in defamation cases and very very expensive.
Calm down Bangles, I love your line "Spreading mis-trust and hate". That's straight out of "The tree huggers guide to being offended"........page 36

James O'Brien seems to have the same problem on Newsnight. This is from a reply to an article entitled Newsnight's Inexorable Decline.

"Emily Thornberry and her ilk thrive on being fed Lines by James O’Brien, but then when he questions a Tory he seems to become this talking head, the question he’s asking seems to take up half the program ( he also has this annoying habit of moving his head constantly from side to side when asking a question, like some demented dog).

Heard Steve Allen play this clip this morning.
Sometimes Steve has conversations with his producer on-air but we don't get to hear the other side.
Chris Moyles and his team decided to fill in the gaps and reveal the whole thing.

"Hilarious"? Dreadful I'm afraid.

James O'Brien certainly considers himself very important. I was listening to that second hour, in which he basically said that workers need rich people like him on side if they are going to achieve the changes for which they campaign. They can't achieve anything without the likes of James O'Brien.

If it's all true then why apologise?
What does the cost of the lawyer matter?

The topic is very important.
If you look at the Politics section of this forum.....around 2 or 3 years ago....you will see that several tory voting posters were telling us that Zero Hours Contracts are just fine and what is the problem.

The more we have discovered since then.....the more those comments and those posters have melted away.....

James O'Brien thinks he is part of the "Metropolitan Elite " without whom nothing can be achieved. Thats why he has got so much wrong in 2016 especially if you add in his oversized ego.

I would imagine the law firm took the case on a no win no fee basis so it wouldn't have cost the Mahmood family anything.

I don't think being called a terrorist supporter is "a very small storm in an even small tea-cup" when you're the victim of a campaign of hate against you. I'm absolutely delighted that the Mahmood family stood up to the hatred of Katie Hopkins and called her out for the liar that she is.

Exactly. Besides whatever it costs it is now the Daily Mail who will be paying the bill, they really should take better legal advice before they publish.

£150,000 plus costs isn't a storm in a teacup
Can you imagine if this verdict had been passed on another LBC presenter?
The reaction may well have been different on here.
Still its always good to know who tries to defend Hopkins.

What did he get wrong?
If he predicted that Brexit and Trump would be a disaster......Philip Hammond has already confirmed the former and we will have to wait to judge the latter.
