J O'B doing a switch off life support story. He's going to be in caring and sharing mode. I think I'll give Steve's podcast a listen and come back later, when James has said he'll be doing something lighter.

Wasnt Hopkins meant to be covering the JOB slot?
A LBC free week coming up for me as am off on holiday tomorrow so Merry Christmas to all
Yes, Hopkins tweeted that she would be in for James O'Brien over the festive period. Perhaps John Stapleton wanted the morning slot so they switched them around. Or maybe it was just to avoid the snide on-air comments they make about it each other!

Merry Christmas Bangla 🎅 🎄

Likewise.
It's one of those topics which I find difficult to listen to and some of the calls are heart breaking.

The snide on air comments are the best fun!
Anyways have a great Christmas CW.

Yes, he was talking utter twaddle.

He does make me chuckle though with his intolerance of unhealthy and/or overweight people and within the space of half an hour makes reference to his little treat of Nando's, the odd cheeseburger, copious quantities of Prosecco, frankfurters and mashed potato, mince pies with whipped cream etc.

Deary me Steve 😂
Not forgetting his Auntie Enid's sherry trifle 🍰

Here's Steve's Hippodrome podcast, for anybody with an hour to spare. I can't comment because I haven't listened yet.

Morning all.
I've listened and must say it's quite entertaining. One or two bits are sort of familiar but overall it's worth a listen.

Really enjoying James O B this morning about the workers and the unions.
There was no mention of the resolved threatened airport groundstaff in the news , i followed it on Twitter

Also soldiers having to give up leave to break a strike , shocking

Hopkins in for J.O'Brian next Monday according to that.

Ex Cameron speech writer and Times journalist Clare Foges in for Clive Bull in the evening.

I've always been surprised by his attacks on the Royal Family (Queen excepted of course). That wouldn't seem to appeal to his primary audience.
It'll be amusing to him, until OFCOM receive numerous complaints.

Oh great news I'll be tuning into that then.

James O'Brien is taking six months off after Christmas he's going trekking on the Inca Trail in Peru and might never come back.

The last two lines are made up but it made me feel a lot better just writing it.

I notice that former Sky News anchor Martin Stanford is also scheduled to host a few shows over the festive period.

If James did do that 6 month walk he might not have enough time to think through how all the support he gave Angela Merkel's immigration policy is going?

i never thought anyone could be more amenable to the fascistic right than ian collins/katie hopkins/farage/maajid nawaz/ian payne .. then up pops darren adams. for light entertainment theres clive bull/ferrari who are no less toxic.

JoB is still trying to get fully inducted into the bbc ex murdoch cabal .. i suspect he meets their pro israel, anti muslim, anti corbyn criteria but misses out in the anti union - social issues.

i suppose it will be too much to expect a change from fake news in 2017 or stopping to give support to the radicalised extremist far right & inciting hatreds http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/article-4046558/The-Mahmood-family-apology.html

I seem to remember she is (was) David Cameron's speech writer. She did a couple of shows either last Christmas, or the Christmas before?

I note from that schedule that Nick Ferrari has decided to review 2014!
"The most-talked about stories of 2014 with Nick Ferrari."

7 hours of Steve Allen on Christmas Day!

Yes. I posted this information 10 posts back in #12708, at 12:29 today on this very same page. Sometimes I really do wonder if people bother to read the latest posts before adding their own twopenn'th on here. Not singling anyone out in particular - this has happened a few times this week - but it does leave me rather exasperated.

Viz:

Perhaps it is just that people skip your posts.
How is the JG promotion going by the way?

I think that's a mix up Nick Ferrari most talked about of 2014 should be 2016 😉

Thanks for that Jeremy, but please rewrite it when you've sobered up.

Blimey. My husband is out for the evening, my son is on the PS4 with his mate... and I am in the study working on a legal tome on the topic of IP. "I know" I thought, I'll click on Gurney's link to SA's Hippodrome shenanigans. Holy moly - it really is utter tripe. The sycophants in the audience are something else. He's talking about Noreen, Gough Square, reading the news... quite astonishing that people pay to go and see him.

I'm persevering but thank god I have a glass of Veuve at hand.
