Ooh, I wonder what's happening to Niki Bedi - is she just taking a break if it's only 3 months?
I heard Petri doing early the breakfast show the other day on London - probably a christmas stand in show - I thought she seemed very toned down and gentle. Bit like her very early days at LBC with Petroc Trelowny.

Nikki does a lot of work for the BBC World Service and also BBC R4, she is also keeping her Sunday morning show on BBC Radio London so maybe the weekday shows were just too much for her. From what I heard this morning, it sounds like a permanent change.

Perhaps it is Petrie who can only cover for 3 months until yet another presenter is found to fill that slot.

Yes, she was was sitting in for Nikki Bedi earlier this week. As mentioned in my post above, Nikki was doing work for the BBC World Service.

Will somebody please strangle Aled Jones.
Oh yes please! It's a real ear-worm. I'm sick to death of finding myself singing 'We're walking in the air...'.!
In fairness to me I could hear that song a million times and I'd still love it to bits.

A very Merry Christmas to everyone on here! [even the Remainers]

It's all so sick bag, toe curlingly cringemaking and cliquey around here at the moment with all these bloody Christmas greetings, so Bah Humbug to you all.
A very Happy 'Ebenezer Scrooge' Christmas to you, HHGTTG x

It's not cliquey to post such greetings. It is called.....being friendly. Nowt wrong with that, surely
What HHGTTG needs is super, festive dose of Steve Allen ... luckily he will be on in abundance on Christmas Day to fill HHGTTG's needs

My luurve-in with Vallen ended quite a long time ago now, after I realised what a nasty piece of work he is (it may be an act of course but poorly executed).
I shan't be listening to his words of wisdom on Christmas day with information on how to cook our non-existent Christmas fayre etc.
Bah Humbug to you all but a happy New Year, Bonne Année, Frohes Neues Jahr, Felice Anno Nuovo etc.

I heard Petrie on Radio London, certainly her tone was gentler. I enjoyed listening.
Presenters that have moved away from LBC are much easier on the ear, losing the 'let's be angry' streak. Must be a directive from 97.3 to whip up audience figures.

I'd like to buy up all our local supply of that dross and put it on a bonfire.

Due to a family bereavement I'm afraid I am not able to present my @LBC show for the rest of the week. A happy Christmas to all my listeners

I see Nick F will now be doing a review of 2016 on Christmas Day!

The other NF (Mr Farage) is presenting with the other NF (!!!!) on Boxing Day.

Joanne Webb presenting the travel news all day yesterday, and again today!

Although they now broadcast national travel news, it often feels that it is London, ie A roads as well as motorways, whereas out of London it seems to be tagged on and has to be a motorway before it gets a mention!

That's sad. Wonder if it was expected or not. Not sure why but these things are always worse this time of year.

Did Steve do his show this morning? He tweeted yesterday about not feeling well and he's just tweeted this:

'I must keep tweeting as my boss gets a bit worried about how I am. So here is my tweet, I'm fine and will be back in the morning from 4 OK'

Who had that bizarre idea of getting an old Aled to sing along to the young Aled's old tunes??

Anyone else find it really creepy.

Oh great news I'll be tuning into that then.

James O'Brien is taking six months off after Christmas he's going trekking on the Inca Trail in Peru and might never come back.

The last two lines are made up but it made me feel a lot better just writing it.
Damn you!!!....for one moment I thought Xmas had come early and this smarmy, up himself ,moron was really going to be missing for 6 months!!

I do apologise for building up your hopes I can now see it must have been shattering to suddenly discover it was only a jolly jape. To end of a positive note though JO'B is known to be interested in the Amazon jungle so with luck he might take a break and visit it sometime in the future, get completely lost in the middle of it and never find his way back out again.

i don't think it's fanny's boss who's worried.... I think it's fanny himself petrified he will be replaced which is why he coughs and splutters over shows when he should be off..

In other news...has anyone noticed more cost cutting at Global?

Nick Ferrari used to have paper reviewers daily...they seem to be missing and I've just sort of clicked that they are not there and he's doing them himself.....

now in some ways this is a good thing...as he fitted in so many things between 7;20 to 8:00 they were often a waste of time...
but it's still a subtle change and just occurred to me... looking forward to his interview/show with Nigel Farrage on Boxing Day I think it is..

by the way he was hilarious with the girl calling in decrying LBC for being evil and just like the Daily Mail.... "I bloody hope so...it's enormously successful, the 2nd biggest selling paper...." he then quoted stats at her she just couldn't argue with......

Lady Phoebe would have been spitting tea over her keyboard with hilarity...

Nick Ferrari handles that sort of thing so well doesn't he? He is quick-witted and able to deal with such matters with aplomb.

Maybe he is trying to mend fences with his 'low grades'.

He's only 'pencilled' in.

Disappointed that Katie's on in the afternoon, when I'm less likely to be listening. Must make the effort but after years of not caring for the 1-4 presenters I've got used to opting for switching off!

Morning all.
