Ooh, just noticed we've got festive emojis so will take the opportunity to wish everybody a happy Christmas and peaceful, prosperous New Year.

Morning all.

Fanny was threatening to open the phone lines for his christmas day show this morning. He said it would depend what sort of a mood he is in on the day. He has recorded two jingles for it. One with the phone number and one without it.

Not sure I'll be listening myself but if I am I really hope he doesn't. It becomes such an SA luvvie fest with people like Noreen phoning in.

I have never heard Noreen phoning in - but why not ?? They are friends. We hardly want to hear a load of abuse from his 'haters.'

Steve is ideally suited to Christmas morning, IMO .....of course I am really looking forward to his lighthearted 'nonsense.' Please note that I am Not a sycophant

Would you rather have Maajid discussing Syria/terrorism ??

Am I right in thinking that NF's show is pre-recorded ?

Happy Christmas Saturday to you All xx

Everyone's favourite ex- LBC presenter Petrie Hosken will be up against Fanny Allen for the 4-7am time slot on BBC Radio London in the new year.

I think you've come to the wrong assumption that it's "cost cutting". I reckon Ferrari and his producers realised that the paper review guests just weren't that always that good, and it took up quite a lot of the 7am-8am hour, which is when the programme gets the most listeners. It also limited Nick's conversations with callers and correspondents because he had to keep cutting back to the paper reviewer to read out another irrelevant snippet.

Nick has always reviewed the front pages himself at around 7.20am and he does this very well. And now without the paper review guest he has more time to talk to callers, guests and correspondents to discuss the most important stories of the morning at the time when the most people are listening. For this reason, I think it was a tactical change to the programme rather than a cost-cutting exercise.

Not a bad lineup over Christmas. Ian Payne did breakfast over Christmas last year but they've got him on Drive this year. I'm surprised Castle has agreed to work over the festive period but that's good news because he is a competent and capable broadcaster. Ian Payne suits Drive more than Breakfast I think.

Will be interesting to hear what Martin Stanford is like. Personally I would have tried to sign Mark Longhurst (who is also ex-Sky News and left at the same time as Martin Stanford) instead, because I think he's a much better presenter with a more direct and opinionated presenting style.

Yes you are. It is pre-recorded. I just heard the trailer and he says he will be covering Brexit, Trump and the election of Sadiq Khan in his show, "along with other stories".

Least he's rid of those chef shackles texting very 2 seconds. So embarrassing, that was.

Oh dear!

The religious nutjobs are out in full force this afternoon on Ian Payne's show.

Wasn't this guy on air now (Omar) ripped to pieces by Maajid Nawaz?

Do you think there is a chance of a mix up and he and Katie Hopkins both turn up on the same day to present the 10am slot?

A 3 hour duet between those two would make interesting viewing.

hi wiggum ...i'm not being deliberately argumentative or hostile but the crucial phrases you've said I've emboldened... you don't really know at all...nor do I....

While I said it partly TIC I believe Fanny Allen's sillies who guested with him were cut for financial as well as "artisitc" reasons....

I just happened to notice this had crept in that's all and I partly agree with you as I said that the review was squeezed in... this could well be financial anyway as Global have to pay for that reviewer to sit there for effectively 5 minutes of speaking and any manager is going to say that isn't cost effective.

Castle had the lovely Carole Malone on last Sunday so they haven't stopped them completely....but it's a plus point because apart from missing the mickey taking of her at least we no longer have to suffer Yasmin Alibi Brown....

he does...it was very funny....can't see JOB being quite so amused by a right wing caller saying something similar from their viewpoint.... he is very funny on the Pledge too...

taking the P out of June Sarpong... (shooting+fish+barrel comes to mind)
being very rude to Rachel Johnson...also very funny

Ah yes The Pledge where Nick Ferrari is on national TV weekly. Quite a contrast to the occasional sick cover that James O'Brien gets on Newsnight. It is another success for Nick although as you say the programme has to carry the rude and ignorant interventions of June Sarpong MBE.

A merry Christmas to all LBC listeners, ex- listeners (but still follow this thread ), and all presenters, producers, rest of the staff and Management at LBC. Finally, of course, "everybody that knows me"

Sorry did you say she has an MBE? Ye gods... sorry OT but what the hell for?
John Surtees has a CBE & criminally no knighthood for his 2 wheels (4 times) & one 4 wheels (F1) championship...the only person ever to do so AND his charity work dedicated to his dead son.... i could quote many more deserving MBEs but pray tell what on earth some imbecile thought she should get one for?

Matthew Stadlen is so wet on LBC. I just googled him and realised I know and enjoyed his work on 5 Minutes with celebrities on BBC News channel.

He is so out of touch and confused these days, he doesn't seem to have a viewpoint - he likes foreigners but wants them to integrate, but keep their own identity, speak English in public, though have the right to talk in their first language at home.

He talks like he is scratching his head as he talks...I'm confused is stayed more often than the LBC number. Seemingly he likes to pot stir with varying degrees of success.
