Morning all.

Fanny was threatening to open the phone lines for his christmas day show this morning. He said it would depend what sort of a mood he is in on the day. He has recorded two jingles for it. One with the phone number and one without it.

Not sure I'll be listening myself but if I am I really hope he doesn't. It becomes such an SA luvvie fest with people like Noreen phoning in.
Noreen is really a figment of Steve's imagination, he does her voice and everything. Auntie Enid, however is real!

Sorry did you say she has an MBE? Ye gods... sorry OT but what the hell for? ... . i could quote many more deserving MBEs but pray tell what on earth some imbecile thought she should get one for?
June Sarpong has done a great deal of charitable work to combat poverty and malnutrition in South Africa, in various countries in West Africa, and here in the UK of course,

As part of her work with the Prince's Trust, she is particularly active in various children''s nutrition campaigns here. Research shows that many under-nourished children in the UK fall behind at school solely due to the distractions brought upon by hunger.

if the honours system serves a purpose at all, it must be to bestow recognition onto people like Ms Sarpong , so that she and others are able to continue to raise funds for charity credibly, here and abroad.

Doesn't stop her being bloody irritating.

Christmas is the season of goodwill to all men.
So....what on earth is Katy Hopkins doing in in the Boxing Day schedule?
Where is the goodwill in describing men and women fleeing from Libya in a small boat as "cockroaches"?
She said: "I don’t care. Show me pictures of coffins, show me bodies floating in water, play violins and show me skinny people looking sad. I still don’t care."
The UN compared her column to the language used in the run up to the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

What is Nigel Farage going to talk about on Boxing Day?
Refugees? Building walls? His hatred for the Eu even after we have left?
Where is the goodwill?

I want to see balance on LBC. I welcome balance in the schedules. I welcome the presence of Red Top Hack Nick Ferrari, who - I understand - is employed to mumble to fill in the gaps between the essential traffic and travel updates for commuters.
I welcome the presence of Andrew Pierce. I am very happy that former Tory Candidate Iain Dale - surely the jewel in the LBC crown - has such as important place in the weekly schedules.

But Hopkins and Farage at Christmas? How does that fit.
Hate over Hope is not a Boxing Day message.
The scheduling is repulsive. Almost obscene.

Never mind. There's always a choice. At 3pm you can watch Brendan Cox giving the alternative Christmas message on Channel 4.

Steady Landis, steady . Katie Hopkins says outrageous things to be deliberately controversial. Literally, that's how she makes her money! All this has been said before by yours truly and other FM's. Tip: stick tongue-in-cheek.
Katie's better side shows up when she's non-political.

But that is all LBC can do - starting with Ferrari reading out the morning's Daily Mail for the last 10 years or whatever 'at a fast pace' (presumably in the hope no-one notices how vacuous the programme is) all the way to Iain Dale's Brexit apologist 'flagship' show.

That policy has brought in the audience numbers so far, it won't change until the Breitbart/Guido/DM/Murdoch constellation wanes - which I believe it might slowly begin to.

MailOnline has missed revenue targets this year * and the DM owners are openly talking about selling the title now. I haven't checked whether LBC / LBC News actually make money for Global.

*Mind you GMG would be happy to have revenue at all.

If you feel so passionately, why not write in to the offenders directly? Whether acknowledged or not, LBC will be made aware among others who are disgruntled. I'm sure all complaints tots up.

Andrew..Andrew....Andrew.....I expect much more from you.......

These were the only 2 options on the 23rd of June.
1. Remain
2. Cameron triggers Article 50 on the 28th of June.

Neither of the 2 options have occured.

You are quoting predictions based on Option 2.
Option 2 did not occur!

Channel 4 will be looking for an alternative crux to spread the Christmas message. An attempt to massage the public's brain cells, if you're willing! I'd prefer a damp squid slapped around the head.
Maybe we should adopt damp squid slapping, as a new Christmas tradition.

I can't speak for today but certainly a few years ago LBC didn't make any money for Global, however they did lump all the news costs onto LBC so the station itself may have made money. LBC to Global though is not just all about money, it gives them great power with Government/Regulators to allow other things to happen on their holy trinity brands (Capital, Heart, Smooth). Not to mention LBC gets people who decide the broadcasting/advertising regulations into the building

LBC may not make big money for Global however its a useful tool in their belt and i can't see them disposing of it unless the whole company gets takeover or sold off.

Matthew Stadlen is so wet on LBC. I just googled him and realised I know and enjoyed his work on 5 Minutes with celebrities on BBC News channel.

He is so out of touch and confused these days, he doesn't seem to have a viewpoint - he likes foreigners but wants them to integrate, but keep their own identity, speak English in public, though have the right to talk in their first language at home.

He talks like he is scratching his head as he talks...I'm confused is stayed more often than the LBC number. Seemingly he likes to pot stir with varying degrees of success.
On the clip I heard this morning he read out a letter from someone complaining he was so London Metropolitan luvvie centric that he was totally out of touch with real working people and had no idea what they think. Particularly those up north in the disaffected labour heartlands.

He couldn't understand this of course and countered it saying he was a working person and speaks to working people all the time so how could he be?

Thus, not only proving he was out of touch, but showing he didn't even have a clue that he could be out of touch. Doesn't live in Islington by any chance does he?

Then again, some of the most deprived wards in the country are in London, not too far from Islington of course.

It's the start of Nick Abbots A-Z annual review of the year tonight. My emergency fall back plan is to paint a bit of wall and watch it dry...

Was listening to LBC around 2am on DAB when the station lost the signal. Just when a wound up caller was accusing the US of funding ISIS.
Not that I'm calling conspiracy or anything....

Well thanks for the info that's me informed........ as Gurney says she's still extremely irritating however.....in one article she bemoans being single at 39.... That's because the guy would need to be shareholder in ear plug factory....

I know we're not allowed to chat about banned posters, but I'll say this much, I'm really shocked to see both g-s and Supersoul banned.
Looks like the phantom mod: alerter just can't help themselves.
