Noreen is really a figment of Steve's imagination, he does her voice and everything. Auntie Enid, however is real!
Lol. I know it's a bit late to respond to this but the mention of Fanny's Aunt Enid always cracks me up. I used to have one myself as a kid in the mid seventies and she was always as old as methusela.

Fanny's Aunt Enid may be real but according to him she's so decrepit she must only just be alive! Apparently she's about 95 now, deaf as a post and they have to carry her around on wheels.

Andrew, a lefty liberal, ha!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Andrew Castle caused quite a twitter storm today having a go at Yasmin Alibhai-Brown on his show this morning according to the Daily Express.

Morning all.

Fanny was threatening to open the phone lines for his christmas day show this morning. He said it would depend what sort of a mood he is in on the day. He has recorded two jingles for it. One with the phone number and one without it.

Not sure I'll be listening myself but if I am I really hope he doesn't. It becomes such an SA luvvie fest with people like Noreen phoning in.
Just like a kid, he does this "I might do" s**t, when it's so obvious!

180 minutes of gushing, pass the sick bucket radio.

How can Castle start arguing this ..he was/is a remainer so he can hardly rail against this now.... then again if you were stuck in a studio with YAB for any length of time you would get annoyed too ....
By the way Cayce i was MIA too but looks like ive been let back in....

Well thanks for the info that's me informed........ as Gurney says she's still extremely irritating however.....in one article she bemoans being single at 39.... That's because the guy would need to be shareholder in ear plug factory....
I could be mistaken but wasn't she an item with David Lammy at some point? I can only imagine the amount of cotton wool the neighbours must have needed when those two got on their high horses.

Merry Christmas to everyone, regardless of what LBC presenters you like / don't like.

PS No JOB for ages. YAYYYYY!!!!!!!

Only one thing worse than fanny allen reading out the papers for 3 hours..... and that's Christmas Day when there are no papers and endlessly reading out the sycophants cards and messages for 3 hours instead..

Oh some diversion listening to him googling house prices up north... or will we open up the phone lines or won't we?

great radio there.. may check out talk radio instead..

Yeah Steve really struggled this morning.

No newspapers.

No content.

Many times I don't think he knew what he was talking about, never mind us.

Shame John Warrington couldn't have been brought in to share the show and make it interesting.

I listened to Steve In Conversation with Cliff Richard. It wasn't cracked up to be something after all, IMO. The references to god were endless from Sir Cliff. Whilst I appreciate his devoutness has helped him through the damning investigation he's endured, I began to think he was doing a godly overkill! In comparison, wasn't Larry Lamb more interesting, less self-centred perhaps?

Ahaaa.... you did listen then I quite enjoyed his 'nonsense.' He is suited for Christmas morning. I like to bury my head in the sand for a few hours & not hear about the repercussions of everyone hating on each other

A Very Happy Christmas to you, Loz & All my fellow posters 🔔🍾

Steve's been all over the place this morning . He decided not to take phone calls as promised, in case nobody rung him. Bless, I don't like think he's so ego-orientated.

And yet if he had taken calls, he could have at least sat back and gave his vocal chords a rest.

And if no-one rang in, they could have got the LBC security guards to fake a few calls.

Good for you lordloz. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown is known to play footsie in the LBC studio when she takes a fancy to a male interviewee. Flirting like a headless attention-seeking chicken, embarrassingly so, it's best she's put on 'ignore'.

I know we're not allowed to chat about banned posters, but I'll say this much, I'm really shocked to see both g-s and Supersoul banned.
Looks like the phantom mod: alerter just can't help themselves.
At the risk of running the gauntlet .... I agree with you.

It may be time to take a well earned sabbatical from this thread ... I come in here to have a giggle and some light political commentary relevant to LBC.

I don't want to be scrutinised for every word I post and be constantly subjected to political grandstanding. There is a political forum for that and even a LBC political thread.

2016 can add this thread to the list of things that died this year ....

On a happier note ... 'Happy Christmas' and enjoy your day and as Dave Allen would say
'May your God go with you '

The politicos won't use the LBC Politics thread because it has less public views. Hence this chit-chat thread has more of a platform for these diehards.
If a poster disagrees with a viewpoint of theirs, then the mods: will be alerted because you've defied 'the bleeding heart' concept, albeit totally superficial - proven by the fact these posters cannot bear too much opposition - the meanness is detectable. Yuk!
Whatever happened to free speech? Shouldn't posters be equal on that note? Perhaps not.

On a lighter note, I hope our posts won't be so scrutinised in 2017 before the finger-happy mod: alerter/s try to ban posters on some trumped-up charge.

Let us pray in the meantime.

Is it not likely that only the removed posts would give any clue as to whatever discussion has caused someone to lose their cool and that - by definition - we don't know.
My impression is that anyone here that might qualify as a Bleeding Heart Liberal is more than capable of holding their own in any discussion. Why they would wish to alert anyone to anything is not clear to me and I think that this is unlikely and that you make too many assumptions.

LBC is Political radio and there will sometimes be Political discussion. These discussions often start with someone who is not very Liberal taking issue with one presenter. I think you look but you do not see.
But my Christmas wishes to you, and to everyone, are unconditional.

I do look Landis, and I can see. J O'B can be criticised as a presenter regarding his particular technique. Beyond that, will be political viewpoints made by him and FM's, all of which will inevitably differ. Why I raised the Bleeding Heart Liberal comment is because, some, I'm not saying you, are known as Lib Fascists. Making assumptions or not, thus leaves me wary re: posts being removed if they don't comply.
Anyhowz, Christmas wishes to you, and to all who reads our witterings.

Who is this Richard Spurr bloke on LBC at the moment? I can find no info on him. I know standards tend to drop when the regular pros all abandon ship for weeks on end but surely there must be some sort of minimum requirement to be on a national station. Or does someone from Global just wander out of the front door and accosted the nearest passer by with "Do you fancy doing a radio programme, mate?"

I think he's a BBC Local Radio presenter. He's done some cover work on LBC before, including last Christmas. But I agree, he's obscure.

Can't stand the woman's whimpering voice.

Just how do people like her get jobs in journalism and radio baffles me.

Utterly talentless.

I like to think Larry Lamb is someone I'd happily have a chat with at a pub and what you see is what you get....no fake act.
