Iain Lee claiming on Twitter that his former BBC local radio colleagues have been banned from interacting with him on social media.
That's why Danny Baker was talking about crowd funding a radio station. It was following a blog by Martin Kelner about his 'contract not being renewed' i.e. sacked from Radio Leeds. Baker, Lee and Kelner not very happy with their treatment by the BBC. |

Well the jury is still out as far as I am concerned for the new Talk Radio. Today my DAB radio is not working properly - having reset it, it no longer finds TR ! Tried listening online, and I keep getting 'squeeky' noises.
BTW If they think I would ring an 0844 number to speak to them .... ! |

Apparently Iain Lee has been slagging off LBC on his podcasts. It's been almost a decade since he left. Time to move on.
I heard a couple of hours of J H-B this morning. Perfect reception on my PC. It's all rather noisy - should be called SHOUTradio. |

He hasn't been slagging off LBC more taking the piss by saying on his new show his topics are going to be Muslims, Black Cabs and Parking fine and tuning his radio to LBC and saying things like "O Muslims again is it Collins"
I like Iain Lee but isn't he a grown up? He can do better than this and I hope he does.

I think that JHB is the only one I shall listen to. Even though she can come over as rather strident, it's definitely an improvement on being irritated by JOB. I wonder how his figures will be affected longterm once the new national audience, resulting in an increase, become weary of his foibles.

Interesting albeit one-sided analysis by Iain Dale and Theo Usherwood on Corbyn's response to Cameron's speech. A caller rang in to complain about the way they had handled it! Iain backed right down and made some feeble comment like "oh, it's funny how two people can see a debate differently, isn't it?" but I would have liked to have heard the caller confront Usherwood, who had unfortunately already scarpered!

Although I would like JHB to have a larger audience than JOB, I don't think TalkRadio will have much of an impact on LBC. The lines were very busy on LBC this morning, whereas JHB took 2 calls. I think the amount of calls her showgets will increase, but I'm not confident the number will reach get into double figures in the near future. |

Ferrari out of his depth today asking a caller why she bothered to wear a Burkini. She explained it was her religious choice, he tried his hardest to convince her otherwise.... eventually he gave up.....he seems to think only one opinion matters...... His own .

The day has finally come, at 10:04 I no longer have the binary choice of JOB (rattling on and on, repeat repeat, on and on, first caller 10:20, rudeness personified) and Woman's Hour on Radio 4 (mum's net). I usually choose Woman's Hour (although I am male), but today will be with JHB on TalkRadio.

He's been absolutely livid with the way the BBC have dealt with his sacking and he seems to have no right go reply.

There seems to be a number of folks on the LBC thread who detest various presenters, but insist on listening to them, despite there being plenty of alternatives. Funny old world.
![]() little point in listening to something one already understands. i dont think anyone listens 24/7 do they, i suspect they dip in and out to get an idea of the world as perceived by in essence ukip - tory - edl & times - telegraph - daily mail - sun. |

I can't locate TalkRADIO on my new DAB radio. I've run the station list, nothing showing and I've turned it off and on again
. Any suggestions? I live some 15 miles south of London.

Another example of why LBC fails to meet its own declared status.
Yet another morning devoted to London, with the debate on the upcoming London mayoral election. Of course, I may be jumping the gun and there may well be further such debates planned to cover all the elections for other mayors around the country and if so I apologise profusely. Interestingly, having talked about London for the last hour, they're now, in this hour, talking about what happened when they were talking about London in the last hour. Is LBC a national station or simply a local station that the rest of the country is a allowed to listen to? |

kelner was on around £50 k a year.
Martin, you're right.I completely forgot about Tony Blackburn. If I was in that industry I don't think I'd touch the BBC with a barge pole. Then again James Max and James Whale weren't impressed with Global either. |

I don't think they usually cover news from other parts of the country, unless it has an impact on London? I am sure it has always been described by the presenters as 'London-centric'. Maybe wrong though! |

So why was George Galloway a candidate to become mayor, not invited on the Mayoral debate on LBC? He is third favourite people with less chance of wining were invited! Where is the logic?

We've had several discussions here about electoral purdah and whether or not candidates should be interviewed. This makes it (fairly) clear, if you've got time to wade through it!
The latest date that purdah can start is 30 March 2016. Local government sometimes views this period as a time when communications has to shut down completely. This is not the case, and the ordinary functions of councils should continue, but some restrictions do apply, by law, to all councillors and officers.
