I think you are onto something there. While they dress their opinions up in very different cloaks, they most definitely share the same mantle of being very judgemental, particularly on subjects that they really haven't thought through, in pursuit of controversy.

Katie labours under the illusion that, because she gained and then lost 4 stone in a few months, she must be some sort of exemplar for the perfect human being who isn't a drain on the NHS. I wonder if she'd be quite so vociferous if a 'chubster' nurse treated her? Or if the surgeon that looked after her enjoys a cigar?

Looking forward to normal morning service resuming in the new year.”

Will there be much of a difference though 😊

TBF, there's both J O'B and Shelagh Fogarty to provide alternative views. Broadcasting from 10am - 4pm in total, I would have thought gives enough balance. I prefer to listen to SF, but understand perfectly she doesn't appeal to many posters.

The LBC schedule for Monday is up-the-wall ! It is a regular weekday schedule. Ian Collins from midnight (although Sunday's has Nick Abbott until midnight!). Nick Ferrari for breakfast followed by James O'B. We know that is wrong.

New Year's Resolution for the webmaster. Check and double check schedules before publishing ... if not sure, put a disclaimer 'subject to revision' on it !

HNY everybody

Did anyone tweet Andrew Castle with criticisms of Andy Murray this morning?

He threw his toys out of the pram towards the end of his programme, demanding 'Will you stop tweeting about Andy Murray' and complaining that his last hour had been hijacked by the discussion of such messages. It was actually quite amusing.

Annie phoned again last night just after eleven, and was given quite a bit of time. Followed straight after by none other than Keith from Rickmansworth once again! Uncanny.

I like Andrew a lot. He has a good grasp of current affairs and gets quite feisty (without turning nasty) when it comes to defending his opinions.

A call from a lady, Andrea, was unceremoniously cut off at about 10.20 on Nick A's show, last night.

She dared to suggest that Nick was becoming obsessed with Trump and Brexit He didn't even allow her to put forward her suggestion for the letter, 'R'

A Very Happy New year to you All. Here's hoping that we manage to keep our sense of humour on this thread during 2017 and that none of us are banned in the process 🥂😉

Ps. To snowy and Phoebe, just to let you know that, for once, I am aware that today is Saturday.................isn't it ? 😜

I like listening to AC simply because I find it funny when sounds like a fish out of water trying desperately hard to please his bosses. I don't think he understands anything about "current affairs" beyond the talking points that his producer gives him at the start of the show.

I agree - I can't see that he is qualified in any sense to host a programme on LBC, except, perhaps, for something on tennis.

He has a rather glib, clipped speaking style and seems to operate on the familiar LibFascist sheep-thought basis, e.g. automatic dismissal of Trump as a fool, immigration/'diversity' = good, NHS is wonderful and under threat from the wicked Tories, Media is predominantly Right Wing, etc. Ironic the latter point, when LBC is just about as bad as Five Live for liberal bias. Even Ferrari is quick to block off any discussion which includes a blanket objection to our country being ever more full of foreigners. I find it strange too that some think Dale Right Wing - his liberalism often drifts into mawkish nonsense, like the time recently when he started crying in response to a caller's sob story. Bah!

I don't agree about LBC having a liberal bias
I find it very right wing

Nick A needs to learn to take criticism. He reacts like a child.

They do have a liberal bias because they are regulated by Offcom and are part of the mainstream media. Castle is exactly as you say. I remember the hysteria he in particular jumped on, in line with other stations to discredit Trump on the run up to the November elections.

At least with LBC, following the 2015 elections they now no longer dismiss Farage in the same way. Unlike the BBC they seem able to cram a phone in or two every for Farage as a vox pop.

I find AC a bit bland. In fact the same as I did when he was court. I'd watch him if no one exciting was on court - very predictable and very mediocre.

Yay that 'lady' was ME !! Yes cut off in my prime and I was going for Rolling Stones' babies . Ronnie and Mick the oldest fathers in town! Ne'er mind, still love him, just got him at the wrong moment! He's probably sick to death of people sniping at him re Trump/Brexit and then I piped up hehe. Sense of humour intact and wishing you all a Happy Happy New Year. Good luck to anyone venturing out and even better luck with impending sore heads. I'm sure Dr Google will provide a cornucopia of hangover cures. Big breakfast and a strong Bloody Mary for me!

yes I did!
Knew it would wind him up with his beloved tennis and that he's friends with them...

I argued that not yet... he's won Wimbledon and Olympics twice - and now No.1 in world ...but not dominant like Federer/Djokovic or Nadal in their prime. If he can do this over time then OK... I'm campaigning for John Surtees again next year, only ever motorcycle champion and F1 champion and he does charity work and director of racing steps foundation still involved bringing young rider up ....

was funnny....
