Slightly eye-popping insight into Steve's life. He recently took a friend for a drink at the Langham. The barmaid asked the friend for proof of age!! Apparently he was twenty-five.

Ah but I don't think we can take everything Steve says as gospel. I'm sure he often exaggerates to make a non story a little more exciting. Still, he makes me smile, so it's a job well done.

Steve has regularly talked about his friend (I think he's called Jordan) who visits him and who appears to be fairly young. I think he has a number of youngish male friends.

Personally I don't believe that Steve's description of his life style is much of an exaggeration (if any at all). It is far too consistent for that. For example I don't have any trouble believing that he purposely drives at 70 mph in the overtaking lane on the motorway and then touches the brakes if he thinks people are getting too close.

He posted about his Langham experience yesterday on Twitter ... said he had gone for tea but was refused because he wasn't a resident so ended up in the bar.

If he's such a regular, he should know that that non-residents need to book ahead at most of the swish hotels.

Yes, IMO, Steve did very well. He is an experienced broadcaster and well used to hosting a different sort of show.
