Islam. LBC's No.1 topic of conversation. (Not withstanding today's events in Brussels).

Poor Tom Swarbrick. Sounding terrible but battling through like a real trouper from Brussels.

Yes, surprising and disappointing that JoB thinks the solution to bombs in Europe is bombing Syria.

JOB's show is turning into theatre for the radio with him playing all the leading roles. He seems to know everything about the Syrian crisis - he would be better employed either working for the government or joining the RSC. Had to switch him off this morning.

Nice to hear the relaxed tones of J O'B this morning. I listened for awhile to Julia H-B but she is very shouty and 'excitable' ! She even had a 30 min interview with Nigel Farage - no phone-in !

Gillian Reynold's comment:
Julia Hartley-Brewer, who does the 10am-1pm weekday shift, spoke so quickly that I began to worry for her health.

Gillian Reynold's comment:
The by-line has obviously changed or Ms Reynolds has undergone surgery ! It is now written by Pete Naughton

Oops! I didn't even look at the byline. It's occupying GR's usual spot in the paper. Apparently 'Gillian Reynolds is away'.

Tssk! Such nit-picking!

Only because his wife was there, he supported the war.

Is there a link to the interview ? I would like to hear his (and probably her) justification for the disgraceful comments he made yesterday.

Bring on June 24th so we are rid of these rejects from the media once and for all.

JHB is not better than Farage when arguing for Brexit. Her Twitter timeline is full of Leave EU rhetoric.

She's certainly alot more loud, excitiable and shouty than during her days on LBC. Needs to calm and slow down a wee bit.

This is a strange topic. A man tweeted that he confronted a veiled Muslim woman in a Croyden street about the terrorist attacks in Brussels and she said it was nothing to do with her. He considered here response "mealy-mouthed". We don't have the Muslim woman's version of events. We don't even know for certain that a Muslim woman was actually confronted in Croyden about the terrorist attacks on Brusssels by the man who has made the claim.

If you want to be at the centre of an LBC discussion, tweet the right story at the right time. Say you punched a Pakistani Muslim taxi driver in the face because you were angry about Brussels and Paris and 7/7 and 9/11! It doesn't matter how true it is.

As for the caller who swore, she didn't sound like somebody who would swear on the radio; she sounded kind and gentle.

Should Mrs Dale's hatred of Donald Trump and contempt for his US and UK supporters be allowed to influence the content and style of LBC's nightly Drivetime Show?

Imagine would he approach a Nun in full religious garb to grill her about child abuse cover-ups in the Catholic Church....

Iain's not the only one with undisguised contempt for certain politicians. And why shouldn't they express it? It's not the so-called impartial BBC.

Really? I recall JHB always being shouty, breathless, and rather patronising when at LBC. Not much change then since.

That's right. Some people on here were glad to see the back of her as I recall. She gabbled a bit but personally I thought she was quite good.

what is it with iain dale .. he has for some time claimed that mosques are hotbeds of radicalisation (claims emanating from his policy exchange - henry jackson friends) .. and yet he doesnt attend mosques and theres little to support his claims since im not aware of police raids / charges against imams/individuals in recent memory beyond the usual handful of suspects linked to bakri/choudary.

why does he persist with these beliefs despite the lack of fact.

Perhaps you should ask him. He's accessible through FB, Twitter and LBC.

Morning all.
