To use my communal garden language, it gets flying 4xxxx's boring on here for sheer pedantic nitpicking. I couldn't agree more.
I know what you mean, Cayce. I find the biggest turn off to be when a poster attempts to bring their perceived view of a fellow member's political affiliation into a discussion.

You still not listening?
Thank you for your interest in my radio listening habits BanglaRoad. I switched from LBC to another station at approximately 10.10 am today.

I managed to switch at 10.03!

Iain Dale mentioned that GOB had texted (or maybe twitted, I don't recall) him that this first day back at work after Christmas and New Year there was the usual paucity of calls and rather quiet switchboard. Iain's response was that in this (his) first hour the switchboard was practically melting and perhaps it was all to do with the subject of discussion.

Redvers, you shouldn't be made to feel you have to account for yourself. Unless 'we' should subscribe to the Lib Fascists/ Sieg Heil mob on this forum.

And you felt the need to tell us that.
How enthralling and just what a discussion forum is all about............

My dear friend, you've become unaccountably picky towards posters on here. Why do you want to swot them like moths circulating around a lampshade, NOT yours necessarily which I do need to point out.

AFAIK this is an open public forum and if you post you can expect replies.
I do understand that some would like this place to be an echo chamber but that's not how it works.
As for being picky towards posters then perhaps have a look at some of your recent posts to me recently.
Anyways enjoy your lbc listening, even when you're not

You asked. As you seem to be ever more forgetful I suggest you scroll back a few posts and you will see your own question about whether I was listening to James O'Brien or not?

I suspect that you are part of a growing army redvers (obviously not a Nazi one, or maybe we are all Nazis......according to Gobber) who see Gob as delivering mediocre radio.
We all have good days and bad days.......but he seems to be having many, many bad days in succession.
I'm not talking about his politics, before you pick up on that Bangles.
I, and clearly many others, think that Gobber is becoming tedious, boring and a predictable presenter, a dullard, a bore.
Maybe he's hacked off that no-one is clamouring to get him on the telly box as much as he desires, but I do feel his 'performance' as a phone in host is going down the crapper 🙀

Hitler's Mein Kampf was reprinted last year in Germany for the 1st time since WWII. It's sold 85K copies since then. Brian used this info to try and say that there are lots of NAZIS in Germany. He seems to be losing the plot with his NAZI fascination. Cracking stuff and I can see this escalating ala the hapless Gaunt.

Increased listening figures and a new contract suggest otherwise.

According to Mr Jeebie That's what people said about 'Fat Sam Allardyce'......England Manager, big lucrative contract worth ££££gazillions..........now he's plying his trade at Crystal Palace.

I expect Gobbers listeners are on the wane due to his recent poor show

So, do tell, how much was Gobbers new contract worth and how long was he signed up for?
Some facts would be nice

I hear that Douglas Cameron will be reading the breakfast news next week
Which Global monkey is left in charge of the website, I wonder

Cayce, we know this thread is no longer as friendly as it used to be, and maybe you feel the need to defend it and certain posters, but do you realise you are part of the problem? Sorry, but you are a pedantic nitpicker - Just let it go and ignore those who want to rile you. Life is too short wasting time on troublemakers.

I'm not having a go at you, just hoping to spare you unnecessary stress.

Brian's 'act' appears to be getting increasingly desperate and lots of people are laughing at how silly he is on social media. His clips on the LBC Facebook page are a flurry of beard twirling and saying increasingly silly things for attention. I predict a meltdown at some point. He can't accept democracy so anyone who disagrees with him is a Daily Mail reader, racist, Nazi or a UKIP supporter. He also despises anyone working class and thinks they are thick. Typical champagne socialist behaviour.

James O'Brien does seem to have an obsession with the far-right. Affter the Berlin terrorist attack he was desperate to bring the far-right into it. I don't recall him being equally desperate to bring Islamic extremism into discussions about the far-right terrorist who killed Jo Cox.

I also think James O'Brien has declined. I'm sure there has been an increase in the amount of assumptions he makes about what people who have views opposite to his are thinking and how they are reacting.

A Dullard. Yes.

Tedious for sure.

Boring. Goes without saying.

I think Steve must have overdone the jelly babies this morning. He's sounding slightly manic, skipping from one thing to another, repeating himself and throwing out random sentences without explaining why.

He doesn't think he should try and lose weight in case he looks gaunt and people think he's ill. Gaunt! He'd have to lose half his body weight before he came anywhere close to gaunt!

Morning all.

Gob (is) delivering mediocre radio.

Your post is fairly generic here and does not say anything new over the hundreds that we have seen on this topic , so there is nothing personal when I reply to yours and say:

I do not believe you when you say 'it is not his politics'.

I think it is his politics that make you and others here dislike his show.

The (very) rare occasions when his numerous critics here praise his show occur when he does not talk about politics.

I am not a radio professional, I admit I cannot tell whether JOB''s or anyone else's radio skills are particularly good or bad, with the exception - I think - of James Whale and Danny Baker, whom I believe to be naturally talented radio broadcasters.

I think JOB's skills are to the same level as everyone else's on LBC. He is , after all, competent enough to be used on a national radio station.

I mostly agree with JOB's views (his admiration of Michael Gove excepted) , and I utterly reject Farage's views. I listen to these 2 shows, and no other, because of the political views expressed, not the skills of the broadcasters.

This made me chuckle so much.

He got quite frantic too when the 'mysterious' producer dared to put him at 5' 8''. Steve will have us know he is a teensy but taller than Tom (Daley) who stands a proud 5' 10''

Oh deary me.

Speaking for myself, absolutely not true. I suspect in the case of some posters you're right; some presenters can do no wrong and others no right, depending on their political leanings, (I think I posted something similar the other day) but I honestly try to take discussions at face value. J O'B has become a source of irritation no matter what he's discussing. He pontificates, makes ridiculous analogies to prove his point and bullies and belittles callers who disagree with him, I tune in most days in the hope that, whatever the topic, he's prepared to be open-minded and sympathetic to other opinions, but usually end up switching off.
