Twaddle.

His condescending, patronising, belittling, holier than thou attitude might have something to do with why I dislike his show.

I still listen religiously because I genuinely believe he is an ok person somewhere underneath his huge ego and his knowledge and intellect I admire.

He's clearly doing something right as the listening figures suggest.

Morning all

Really dont like it when Nick F gives patronising examples when discussing workers being on remuneration committees ...and keeps referring to them as "poor souls"

Well, my flabber has been well and truly gasted!
I make a very clear statement, without any ambiguity, having considered beforehand what I am going to write............yet you are claiming to know me better than I know myself.

As I stated, it his 'performance' as a presenter that is dire.
I notice that you are based in California so I guess you feel that qualifies you to tell someone 'what they really meant'.

A friend of mine lived in LA for a couple of years, I asked her what it was like, she said "LA is like a bowl of muesli........it's full of fruits, nuts and flakes"
Seems like she was spot on 😀

I like porridge and muesli.

I also enjoy differences of opinion and opposite slants on life, where ever from and who ever. This is where OB fails as he has the mind to process this, but chooses to use his mental capacity to put down to often the caller.

Correlation is not causation, granted, however I cannot help but notice a very high correlation between his critics' views on his shows and their politics on, say, asyum seekers.

All just a spectacular coincidence then ?

You are simply staggered that other people don't share your view, 'how can that be'? You ask yourself.

Sorry if I'm being overly simplistic

There must be some kind of hallucinatory effect that occurs when reading posts on here that causes some posters to accuse others of things that simply haven't happened. I don't think we have ever discussed asylum seekers per se.

Duck!! Toys flying out of the pram in all directions.

He's just dismissed a caller who was making a reasonable reply to the question as a Wally. I think that's it for me this morning. I tried.

I listened every night to TalkRADIO when George Galloway was standing in for The Whale. I listened every week with Ken Livingstone was appearing on LBC. The Brian issue isn't simply a matter of his so-called politics. It is his increasingly hysterical worldview (everyone is a NAZI) and his staggering hypocrisy. His champagne socialism is also a key rib-tickler and his Alan Partridge style of broadcasting is hilarious. His smugness and his disdain for callers and his sheer superciliousness is always utterly laughable.

O'Brien today sounding like he has overdosed on sugar - high pitched, spluttering, mocking, speed talking - the whole ego package in one go.

I just heard a call from 'George' who was trying to explain to Gobber how the changes over time economically and the performance of those businesses justified the salaries of certain FTSE 250 CEO's.........unfortunately we never got to hear his point.

Gobber started to belittle the guy, who stood his ground very well and refused to play Gobbers juvenile games and re-stated 'you have asked a question, will you at least allow me to answer it'
Gobber said that the comment George had made was 'the worst in the history of this programme' and then proceeded to call him a 'wally' and then once he had cut the caller off, stated that he would have had a better conversation with his goldfish.

I really think he has lost it.
Belittling callers and resorting to name calling is not only unprofessional but is the result of disappearing up your own ego.

It's only 10.30 but thats enough for me, I've had as much as I can stand, time to hit the scan button........😩😡

In that case, even better. That is the scientific method: testing a hypothesis on new data.

let us take the statements:

1/2: I mostly like JOB's shows / I mostly dislike JOB's shows

and

A/B : I support admiting 500'000 asylum seekers to the UK in 2017 / I do not support admitting 500'00 asylum seekers to the UK in 2017

We alll know where JOB stands.

Now, which combinations of these statements would you say will be most likely ?

Brian is droning on about the "politics of envy" and (of course) "champagne socialism" . The many accusations of champagne socialism fired at him have obviously hit a raw nerve. Ir's always a great listen when he is trying to justify his outrageous hypocrisy. Brian and the plot are rapidly distancing themselves from each other.

Based on your scientific analysis of data,

a/b I mostly like Iain Dale's shows/I mostly dislike Iain Dale's shows

y/z I like small dogs/I dislike small dogs.

Which combination of these statements is most likely, based on ID's ownership of 2 small dogs?

For the record, I dislike small dogs.

Would that be his comments about Amber Rudd? Which had 4 million views. In 2 days.
Or the Jo Cox clip which has millions of views?

Everything changed in 2016 Wolfie. Do try to keep up.

I claim that if we surveyed the FMs here, and maybe even the audience st large, in your survey the 4 combinations would be evenly spread, and that in mine 2 combinations would dominate all others.
