The supercilious, patronising tones come from the one and only. Eg: J O'B, yesterday said to a caller who had difficulty speaking the English language, "See you after article 50 has been triggered", then cut the caller off.
Even before 10am we are hearing the upcoming presenter calling people "racist". It has just become absolutely absurd. Clicky off! Will be shifting over to the fragrant Julia on TalkRADIO. JHB is leading the conversation as she doesn't talk about herself all show. The Teflon Maiden of Mid-Morning Radio!
BIB. A caller who was long-winded because he couldn't speak the language properly was quickly dismissed, yet J O'B screams "racist" given the opportunity. Are listeners' supposed to forget his intolerance towards a foreign caller yesterday? If so, where does hypocrisy feature perchance?
There are kinder ways of dispensing with a caller who's taking up valuable airtime than that, I would have thought.

Is any poster going to say anything nice about Shelagh Fogarty? I think she's a bloody sight more sensible than 'the bloke' that's on before her.
Certainly won't be Mr Rackabit!

Interesting. The JOB critics have all crawled out of the woodwork, and others have become emboldened since the return of their spiritual leader. It's just like old times!

You seem to be imagining rather a lot there.
Like you imagined she has spent the last twenty years at the BBC, that's imagined as well.
Actually her Wikipedia implies more than 20 years at the BBC for Shelagh Fogarty. Do you know better BanglaRoad? If so I suggest you send Wikipedia a correction.

I know and understand what "the LAST twenty years" means.
Come back to me when you've worked it out.

Less Clive Bull is not bad, I find him to wind callers up too much when he constantly mocks callers and by mocking them while interrupting them too.
Must be a different Clive Bull to the one that I listen to.

Like you imagined she has spent the last twenty years at the BBC, that's imagined as well.
"Fogarty graduated in 1988 and spent a year in Barcelona. Learning her trade, she worked as a BBC trainee at Radio Humberside, Radio Guernsey, Radio Bristol, Radio Sheffield and Radio Merseyside.
Fogarty joined Radio 4 in 1994, and went freelance in 1999.

She then moved on to Radio 5 Live where she co-presented Weekend Breakfast before moving to co-host the Breakfast programme with Nicky Campbell. In April 2011, Fogarty took over from Gabby Logan on the lunchtime show. The show covered news, sport and interviews. Each day there was a special feature. On Mondays the feature was the sports team. Health was covered on Tuesdays. The programme was broadcast from Westminster on Wednesdays when Fogarty was joined by political correspondent John Pienaar, a guest journalist and three members of Parliament to cover Prime Minister's Questions. Thursday's consumer desk included Martin Lewis. Five Life on Fridays looked at work and lifestyle.

In January 2008, she had a gun pointed at her and her film crew while filming a report for ITV's Tonight with Trevor McDonald, in Croxteth where she was brought up.[2] She had been asked to return to the area to see how safe she felt walking around after dark.

In January 2010 Fogarty joined the presenting team of The Daily Politics, co-hosting the show on Thursdays with Andrew Neil.

In July 2014 Fogarty announced that she would be leaving 5 Live to explore other opportunities. Her final programme was broadcast on 3 September."

So it would seem that she worked for the BBC for close to 25 years Bangles...................pesky things facts!!! 😆

All have been spoken about as jobs for dear Nigel recently.
Yet he takes an hour on a graveyard slot on the radio.

Is that on a par with Gobber being the holiday fill in on Newsnight, a late night graveyard slot with a reducing audience..........I know how you like facts😀

He's doing 7-8pm Monday - Thursday.
Only an hour?

It'd be nice if he could manage a few minutes in his awfully busy day to actually earn a little of that £204,000 a year he gets paid from The Public Purse.

Clive has noticeably become disenchanted since dealing with Global's unwavering News only topics. His dry sense of humour has been lost, as though he's been put in a straight jacket. Subsequently, the Clive I hear sounds dull, if not completely hacked off most days.

Yes, of course. I'd forgotten the marvels of electronic communication. I think Mike Dicken and John Peel used to phone in their shows.
The legend that is Rhod Sharp broadcasts his Up All Night show on 5Live from the attic of his house in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

I'll miss Clive Bull at 7 while I'm cooking dinner, but I became an Archers convert over the holidays so all is not lost.

The last twenty years include 2015 and 2016.
SF didn't work for the BBC then.
Unless of course you know different.......

As someone who remembers Clive from his Sven from Swiss Cottage days, it's been heartbreaking to hear him being straitjacketed by degrees and made to cover the same topics that everyone else has already done to death during the course of the day.

Such a shame and a waste of an excellent broadcaster.
