Agreed-on that basis, Jeremy Clarkson's a socialist!
That said I think the poster is saying it with their tongue in their cheek-to a degree, at least.
Interesting discussion with Iain at the moment, re Jamie Oliver. Personally I voted 'remain', though I agree with Iain that Jamie is overreacting by closing his restaurant.”
Jamie Oliver is closing restaurants because they are rubbish.... Iain Dale totally nailed it, I know Tunbridge Wells reasonably well but not as well as him.
The layout of places especially around the Pantiles is difficult and parking tricky to get close in the High St. Footfall would be a major problem and as he said it's a very crowded market and there are a couple of very good independents there (one Italian too if I recall). TW is a very wealthy area but people aren't daft with their money and want value.
Pizza Express, Zizzi, Bella Italia etc. etc. all chains who at least do it better (though not fantastic) but for less money.
Carluccio's is overpriced for what it is... but not as much as Jamie's............
where you get a Pizza for £12.00 and then burger at £10.95 and then 3 chips in a bucket for £13.95.....that's bad enough but when Byron's and GBK are doing it better that's then begs the point what the hell are burgers and fries doing on an Italian menu?
mixed marketing messages to customers, poor service, duff locations and either do Italian very very well or do burgers very well...like the not what it once was and sadly lamented Ed's or the new chains to UK like 5 guys and fries.... who are expanding not closing.....
that's the cause ...not Brexit..... as the majority of Iain's callers testified actually...
