With talkRADIO running a magazine-style schedule at the weekend, it would be a very interesting move to put Steve Allen on for Sunday lunchtime, say, with an entertainment show, perhaps.

I'd love it, and I'd love to see Steve allowed to do what he's best at again.

I would say that 'opprobrium' was too strong a word for the criticism for PH on here. I don't think she was hated in the way some presenters are, but it was fun ribbing her for the predictable one-upmanship and schoolmarm cross-ness, which she never failed to demonstrate.

Ah yes Jellybone. I could never get into that. I think perhaps because I was a teenager when I discovered that was on and I was probably the wrong target age.

It used to be better when they did the TV stuff while the TV shows they were talking about were on.

Why do the people who do the weird sex stuff they talk about sound so sensible and like they probably have good jobs?

That saturday evening show was cristo's best on LBC. The kind of light entertainment flim flam that is now gone.

What has "good jobs" got to do with it?

Cristo is a laugh, these presenters don't believe in what they say do they.

They sound so sensible, serious and proffessional but they're getting up to all sorts!

Definitely very much OT, but...

I think that a) 'weird' is very much in the eye of the beholder and b) as Martin says, what has someone's job or 'being sensible' got to do with sexual predilections?

For example, we all accept Martin as a long-standing, very sensible poster and his knee fetish is frankly none of our business!

I actually find him boring though he did get a bit cross (a bit unpleasant imo) with one caller during a recent discussion about Sunday trading hours. He lacks the natural repartee of Nick Abbot and the quirkyness of Cristo. I would rather go and watch paint dry than listen to him droning on.

I was expecting C in CE to phone Stig this morning. He was parading, as he often does, his aggressive atheism - religion is crazy people who believe in magic. Let's hope the people he was determined to offend were in church, celebrating Easter.

Morning all.

Cristo has no shortage of critics in the DS Forum but despite his rants on gays issues, Boris and TFL, I actually enjoy listening to him especially when he engages with homophobes and those to the far right of the political spectrum.

Clive Bull - Right now.
Caller after caller asking the studio guest to help them because they have a consumer problem with a company (or an individual trader) and they are unable to get their money back.
It seems to me that these companies have, in various ways, taken advantage of all of these callers. It seems to me that for each of these callers, English is not their first language.

A day on LBC is not complete without EDL / Liberty GB / some neo-nazi being given airtime nowadays. Or in some cases a show. And the topic is 'Does Europe (meaning everybody else but us) have a problem with the far-right' ...
