Err? Is it a clear out at LBC? I reckon John Stapleton will be given a weekend show? Or Andrew Castle, Anthony Davis back maybe Andrew move to drive on smooth London?

Giving a 70 year old man who's as interesting as talking wallpaper won't count as a shake up to me.

This is from Olly's Face Book page ...

'I’ve just done my last Saturday show for LBC: there’s about to be a shake-up of the weekend schedule and, sadly for me, I’m not part of it.
The last four years has taught me so much about doing live radio, and I’ve loved every moment (apart from going to bed at 6am when doing overnights!). I hope to be back on the wireless very soon. Thanks to all the fantastic team at LBC - and thanks to you, for listening and calling in. x Olly '

Olly's tweet mentions a shake-up of the weekend schedule. I wonder if this is because of talkRADIO and their 'magazine' weekend programming. Perhaps we'll see LBC reverting back to something like that.

Cross posting! Great minds, and all that!

I was surprised to hear Tania Snuggs reading the news tonight on LBC, as she's a newsreader on talkRADIO now.

I'm hoping Bev Turner is off to pastures new too but I have a feeling she's going to get more hours

I was indifferent to Olly. Didn't dislike him but he did't exactly set the airwaves on fire. I probably won't notice he's gone.

I first heard Olly on Steve Allen's Sunday breakfast show when he was doing 7-10am. Olly was with a woman as well, both doing the papers. He was very good, funny, and he didn't let Steve have it all his own way.

However, on his own show, I also found him a bit bland. Nice enough, but...

Agree with the post above about Olly.

The weekends between 3 and 10 PM have been LBC's weakest point for a long time, with Clive Bull's Sunday evening show being an exception. When they had the football show it was out of place because they didn't have football or any other sport on any other time of the week.

On Saturday evenings they could keep the sex show but widen it out an hour and add a non-sexual relationship problems hour. Before that show there could be a show about showbiz and reality TV for 2 hours.

On Sundays they could have a show discussing the religious and ethical issues of the week before Clive Bull's show, and invite callers to call guests from religious/ethics groups.

From the LBC Presenters page -

Olly Mann

He's one of the most successful podcasters in the UK - and is now on LBC.

(Petrie is no longer featured there).

All I have learnt from LBC so far this weekend is that Ken Livingstone is still deluded and that Nick Abbot seems to have turned into a conspiracy theorists.

All rather sad.

Stapleton in for Bev at 10.00. Next Saturday's details unavailable on schedule, so expect an unveiling announcement. So long as Ken 'n Dave survive the cull I'm happy.

Morning all.

Wish they'd give Ken and Dave the 3rd hour back.

In what capacity is Suzanne Evans reviewing the newspapers ? I thought she had been sacked, sorry relieved, from all UKIP responsibilities.

Is LBC that desperate for right wingers now?

She appears to understand preciously little about foreign aid too if she thinks we should not give aid to nations with corrupt governments.

Yes, I think you're right.
Looks like there's gonna be a major re-shuffling/axing of LBC Presenters (possibly due to the launch of the new talkRadio?)

3 hours for Ken and Dave is a must

Hopkins to get a regular show and be let of the leash.

Ooh, Stig's said he'll be back next week but possibly at a different time. I think they could shift Steve forward to a more accessible time. 7-9 perhaps?

Interesting

The weekends really do need a shake-up. Surely, they can't dispense with Olly Mann & keep Bev !!

I miss Petrie, of an afternoon - but enjoy Ian P, minus the sport. He is unpretentious ; a pleasant listen. Unlike, many of his male colleagues he is caller-orientated. The show is not all about him !!

Presumably, it is daytime changes. Nick A ain't going anywhere.

Happy Sunday to you all x

My guess is that at least they will reinstate Ken and David's three hour show.

Listening for the last half hour to John Stapleton. No issue about age its about performance and I was struggling to find a word for his dire hosting, have to say your right.

Poor Radio. He doesn't really listen and develop the arguments, stuck in a mental rut?
