Switched over to Ferrari for 2 minutes this morning. Yup, it was muslims again. Switched back.

Ferrari seems to be treating the current story with inoffensive neutrality. I presume it's just any mention of Muslims that you object to, regardless of the story. Have you tried complaining to LBC? I think most of us would be grateful if you could have this tiresome topic banned.

Ferrari conveniently forgetting that he worked for a newspaper in the 1980s that offered homosexuals one way flights to Europe, as long as they promised to stay there...

In his defence he admitted he gets stories wrong often ...

That's not the same as wanting homosexuality banned though is it? Also, what were Nick Ferrari's views at the time? Just because he worked for a certain newspaper, that doesn't necessarily mean he supported everything that was printed does it?

I'm not sure that the nation has an islamophobic milieu. What is does have is freedom of speech (within certain boundaries). I agree that Islam does get discussed a great deal, but that's because it is in the news. The same as the health service, the prime minister etc; they are on LBC a lot also.

If you do not like LBC's content, feel free to contact them, or alternatively listen elsewhere. A word to the wise though, JHB on Talkradio will be discussing the same issue shortly.

JOB at his absolute worst in that last hour, interrupting and talking over everyone. Almost impossible to listen to.

Not sure what he hoped for by discussing the Cameron/tax thing. Perhaps, having been away, he didn't realise that every drop of interest has been wrung out of it over the past few days. Perhaps he thought the novelty of him siding with the PM would be sufficiently interesting to hold our attention. 'Fraid it didn't.

Since the UK is part of Europe, presumably the homosexuals in question could simply have stayed where they were and saved the air fare.

Yes, very disappointing, and qualifies for the adage 'That's an hour we'll never get back.'
Tom Swarbrick did a workmanlike job filling in for James, although I was looking forward to the latter's return. As he has stated, he's spent two weeks not speaking on the radio and now he has to make up for lost time. Ouch.

Yes, me too (BIB). But as you say, Charlie, he's definitely been making up for lost talking time. He's better than that, but if he carries on behaving like Ferrari, then I'll turn him off, as I do to Ferrari. Shame.

I always thought that any reference to, 'Muslims' was...... coz there was some pertinent issue, relating to Islam, in the news

We all knew that James would discuss Cameron's 'woes.' I wonder how many of his listener's were surprised at his perspective

Happy Monday to you all x

Well it is 'in the news' often because that's what tabloid people and tabloid radio like LBC put up there perhaps?

Ferrari seems to have an obsession with muslim women's swimwear for example. It's becoming slightly creepy if you ask me.

He also only ever mentions Germany when talking about the Cologne incident at New Year's Eve. Why ? A poster used to do that here too. What's the interest ? Press freedom in Germany ? Policing in Germany ? What ? Why no report during the Carnival ?

It reminds me of a well - known LBC presenter who writes rather forthright supportive statements about the government of Israel despite only having ever been there twice (once not all actually, the other one because he was on a paid-for trip). Not a word about the country, _ever_, unless there is some border incident.

Makes you wonder why Muslims are 'always in the news' eh.

”

Indeed there is. Trevor Phillips (who was previous the head of the Commission for Racial Equality) has conducted a survey with ICM to investigate the attitudes of British Muslims on a wide variety of topics.
The findings will be published in full on a Channel4 program on Wednesday night - What British Muslims Really Think.

Expect plenty of fodder for the folks at LBC.

He tweeted a picture of his betting slip, with three horses on it. I can't imagine him sidling into a betting shop! He probably got his mate from the greengrocers to do it for him.

One doesn't sidle into a betting shop, one strides in with head held high, bellowing 'I say, my good man!'

There was a bloke who phoned Nick Ferrari this morning, who I think was from the Tax Payers' Alliance. He was trying in vain to explain certain relevant aspects of the tax system, but as this information didn't fit in with Nick's preconceived views he (Nick) wouldn't let the man talk. Nick cut him off by saying 'The last time I checked, this is the Nick Ferrari show.'
Franke Boyle covers this conundrum succinctly: "A tax return is a pretty useless guide to whether people have money offshore that they don't pay tax on."
