Pushing doesn't just happen, its not a force of nature. I don't go to football matches but I've seen it at festivals and I've seen it at crowded tube stations - idiots at the back of a crowd actively push in or even shove people ahead even though they can see its crowded in front of them.”

Virtually every moment of what happened that day was caught on camera inside and outside the ground. The crush happened because the police opened gate C and let more people into an already overcrowded enclosed space.
The evidence was examined by the jury and THE FANS WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE.
Not sure why I need to repeat facts which are widely available.

I wasn't there, I only know what has been reported.

Surely, if the pen was already crowded but a gate was then opened to let even more people through - those trying to get in probably couldn't see the front. It would have been a natural reaction to push to try and get themselves further forward.

I wonder if Ken will be back on LBC. He's getting a kicking on social media for going on Radio 4 this morning and defending Naz Shah. His remarks do make you wonder if he's losing it. Some Labour MPs are calling for him to be suspended from the party.

The conclusion was that there wouldn't have been any pushing if the police hadn't opened the gate.

A jury decision is not a fact. If the facts were incontrovertable it wouldn't have taken 30 years and a jury trial to get to a conclusion would it.

Probably not. But the unnecessary pushing occured and it wasn't the police doing it. But I guess we have to treat people as children these days in the current climate - not responsible for their own actions, always someone else to blame.

I'm surprised at the lack of outrage on this board regarding Ken's behaviour.

I wonder if it would have been the same if Katie Hopkins or Nigel Farage had made those comments ?

Scrap that ... I'm not surprised by the reaction on this board.

It took so long to get to the truth because of the lies and deceit of the police and some of the media.
BTW the jury decision IS a fact.

Some people can always find excuses for politicians who represent their own political leanings.

Speaking off Katie, she's written a very moving piece in the DM about Hillsborough. But, no doubt, some people will refuse to give her any credit for not always being the monster they believe her to be.

I would love to inhabit your world where you can just ignore things that don't suit your narrative. I know you hate the BBC but you would be a wow on Fighting Talk at the end when you are asked to defend the indefensible.

I acknowledge this article for what it is.

I don't regard Ms. Hopkins as a monster. To slightly misquote the late Robert Robinson I regard her as someone who is famous for being famous.

I read it yesterday and thought for once she got it right. I was shocked about her husband losing so many siblings. Very sad.

She's a bright woman there is no doubt and can be very sensible when she's not trying to outrage.

Judging from the unpleasant, dismissive and hate-filled vitriol that I've read so far, this seems to be only one item in a very long list!

Ken really isn't making any friends is he ?

If Ken had looked at me with that smirk on his face ..... One day it's going to get him a slap (and I'm not condoning violence, but his arrogance is unbelievable)

I wonder if Ken's shenanigans will have a detrimental impact on Sadiq Khan's bid to be London Mayor.

One week away from local and mayoral elections, what an earth is happening to the Labour Party? Imploding from within.

Ken has been suspended ....

It's been like an Ealing Comedy this morning ...

And apparently George Galloway has come out in support of Ken!!

LBC right in the thick of things. Started off on Iain dales show yesterday and exploded during JOB's .

Ken has been kicked out of the Labour Party over his offensive remarks over Jews. I'm sure he will be kicked out of LBC now

Not necessarily. Global thrive on a bit of controversy and this'll bring the callers flooding in to his show if he's still on on saturday.

I wonder by way of his suspension from the Labour Party his Purdah exclusion from LBC will be lifted and he can resume his duties with Mellor on Saturday. I hope so but I doubt it.

If anything, it will be the Labour Party who will call the shots - not LBC.

Tut tut Ken Livingstone. Highly pleasurable to see the labour leadership implode before our very eyes. The truth always comes out. Good grief I would let this bunch of loons boil me an egg let alone run our country. And it was a "no comment" from Corbyn in that stupid Lenin cap he wears. Absolutely laughable.

The problem with labour being a basket case run by a 66 year old student activist is that it gives the Torys essentially free reign to do what they like since they know labour is not currently a threat on any level (London mayor elections aside). The doctors dispute is a good example. I doubt Hunt would be so complacent if he was being properly savaged in the commons by a competant opposition.

This has been a great week for LBC, and I don't think it's over yet. I wonder if Iain Dale will interview Ken Livingstone again this afternoon.

I don't think saying unpleasant things is enough to get you sacked from LBC. It hasn't been for Ken Livingstone anyway. He was on Question Time calling the 7/7 terrorists freedom fighters a few months ago.
