A problem occurred with this website, so it was reloaded

I've been getting this problem in Safari for months now, which makes it impossible to read stuff without it happening. I had hoped subsequent updates would correct it, but they haven't.

Has anybody any ideas. I am using Safari on iPad 2.

I get that sometimes on mine, mostly I think it's because the iPad 2 is old now and struggling to cope with the noise on websites these days

I don't see that problem very often, but I would image Adblock Plus for iOS would help.

Normal with the iPad2 I'm afraid, especially on newspaper websites which are full of utter crap.

You can try using the Puffin browser I find that works well or turn off JavaScript. That makes a big difference but quite a few things din't work but the browser runs more reliably.

I junked mine in the end.

Thank you everyone for your help. If it's mainly to do with the age of my tablet - 3yrs - it seems that I'm lumbered with it. Adblock wouldn't load saying that my iPad is incompatible which is strange because I'm on IOS9. I'm afraid that turning offJava script might affect other stuff, but I will try it.

Actually, I'm sure that it is to do with Safari as I have no trouble with Chrome. Trouble is, my default browser is Safari, it would be good if I could open everything in Chrome by default.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

The last few days I have had a problem with iPad Air with it not opening pages properly, taking ages to load pictures. Gmail is taking ages to load messages. Chrome is no better than Safari for this problem. I have deleted apps, re-set networks, done loads of hard re-sets, gone through all the settings to see if something is set wrong. Nothing has worked. Today a friend came round and she is experiencing same problem. We are both with Virgin, but the speed I am getting is very fast, have checked it, so does not seem to be a speed problem. Iphone6s and pc working fine.

I get this problem too - with my iPad Air 2 - so mine isn't (that) old.

I have posted this on other threads. Have solved the problem. Go to settings, Safar, turn off Safari suggestions. Woosh, full speed ahead. Hope it works for you.

t

I am very, very, indebted to you, Dragon, for providing this information. I have spent twenty happy minutes clicking on items of news, none of which has disappeared while I have been reading them, as hitherto. You cannot begin to understand how grateful I am to tou, for having removed this mind-blowing frustration.

Many thanks

Thank you, dragon, but the early promise wasn't sustained. But matters are seventy percent better than before you gave me the advice, so I am grateful.

Best wishes
