From Firefox gets to the point of downloading the my5 app but reports "incompatible device". All other rival channel players are working. Anybody heard when Channel 5 will fix this?

What about installing from playstore?

If not, then if you can get it installed on another android device, you can back it using ES TASK MANAGER, creating an apk and manually install it.

It's the install from Playstore which objects. Googling around suggests that MY5 app wants later OS.

Channel 5 have been promoting the app in the advert breaks. Pity it doesn't work on my tablet.

Windows+IE11 version has display issues (e.g. episode number missing) and plays the programme through Adobe Flash Player - but still largely works.

i had same problem on my ultra 6 which is on google android lollipop 5.1

So it seems there are problems on most platforms and operating systems.

Anyone know what happened? Is this a totally new application from a different developer who bit off more than they could chew or did some licence expiry catch them out and this replacement had to be rushed out, largely untested, to have a continuance of service?

I have W7+IE11 and I just get a buffering icon. Thought it might be ad blocking, AV or Add-Ons but tried disabling them and it still hangs.


Works in Chrome though.

I'm getting "bad request" "entity failed validation" on the current tablet after initially spending some quality time on the older tablet trying to log in and the site failing to show any kind of message telling me that the slab is too old, outdated etc and will this even work in a browser on a tablet and then seeing the system requirements for the app that says 'bog off with your older-than-six-months stone age rubbish'.
Ooh hang on now I've got "unauthorized" "invalid response signature".
And takes ages to register that I've hit 'retry' or even 'close'.

And how many times am I supposed to have to log in? Surely doing this on the opening screen (and apparently without errors) should 'stick'?

So I just tried a password reset in case it was me being thick and it's given me that (admittedly nice) coloured page with absolutely nothing else on it so I have no idea WTF about any of it. Just reset the flipping password and tell me what the temporary on is! There is no requirement for 15,000 lines of mental javascript code to do that! Pillocks, the lot of them

No help as sorts, But have a Samsung mini s3 with 4.1.2 and have no problems at all with the My5.tv app, plays everything.

Just to keep things interesting, I keep my email away from the tablet and it looks like the password reset web page is seriously deficiently non-cross-platform, so I had to sort a temporary account to put on the slab so I could forward it the message with the link in it, and the page displayed properly. I know next to nothing about Android phones, not sure what you mean about passwords, I can watch anything I want, All I did was download the app a few days ago and get to watch what I want I downloaded the app from Google Play let it do what ever it needs to do and it just works, Did notice that there is not much difference in using 2.5G or 5G WiFi,

Mobile phones are not my thing, It would take me a day just to send a text

Ah, my fault for not being clear - I was trying to watch something past its sell-by date which requires logging in, I'll try again with something 'free' (as it were) and see what happens.

I hadn't actually thought to try what should have been monumentally obvious but I have the same excuse of lack of familiarity...

edit : seems to work! Except for the "Whoops the programme is not currently available" PT 106000", will try another
edit2 : no luck there either but this does seem to be going the right way - catch-up appears to work (assuming the unavailable bit is temporary) but the registration-required older stuff doesn't. Oh well

Just tried to watch Person of Interest the first one, needed to login but messed up, going back about five days, As I've said I can watch most things, Strange I've just been watching Person of Interest from 3rd of March without any login or passwords

Not sure what's going on.

Maybe there's just some general oddness going on there - and also the question of how accurately they calculate 'older than 7 days', especially as I have developed a cunning technique of managing to be 30 seconds too late for anything that has a time limit.

Just seems odd that in this day and age a media company's website would not be compatible.

Still can't get the tablet to work with this - I don't understand how it's getting all the way to showing the actual 'play' screen, complete with length of show, before it stops. Do they show ads before the actual programme? I have a couple of ad services blocked at the DNS level (rather than farting about with ad blockers on individual devices, also means I can allow the non-problem services and 'pay the rent' as it were) so does anyone know if that might be my problem?

Not had a go at the W7+IE11 yet though I did try the tablet with wired vs wireless and when wired it asks if I want to permanently enable mobile data every time I try it though on the other hand I do get to see that some sort of my5 interwebs video works as I get an advert when trying to watch Ninja Turtles but not for the Saturday Show, presumably the sponsored-by thing?

But still getting the PT-106000 error and now (as in actually just now) when I do a web search this is appearing so maybe I should have searched before typing but it didn't come back with any useful results the last time I tried...

Latest attempt - It started, I got a bit of the Saturday Show tune, and "welcome to the saturday show I'm ..." and then it tells me programme not available try again later PT-106000.

And subsequent attempts get the error message only. I really should get around to contacting their tech dept but I have a load of tax stuff to do

rather than start a new thread I saw this one so will post my problem here hopefully some one will have a answer for me! went to google play store only to find no install button for my5,tv app. no problem so off to the website website loads ok searched for a programme still ok click on the episode i want to watch the thumbnail is on the top right hand side of the screen click on it nothing happens? Double click still nothing so i presume channel 5 are using flash which is no longer supported on Android devices. why can't channel 5 start using HTML5 like You tube etc much more reliable coding so I have been told I have recently installed the Dolphin Browser and Dolphin video player that boasts flash support, still doesn't work on my5.tv website. any ideas please? TIA
