Does anyone have any experiance of either of these?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marmitek-Any...words=marmitek

Or

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro®-Powe...i+video+sender

There's not a lot of difference in the price at the moment.

Do they work etc. There's a few reviews on Amazon but only 3 for the second one

Well they are both use power line technology which is bad technology that causes interference to your neighbours. They are also very expensive.

Much better to use an HDMI modulator below which works very well, can feed any number of TVs and is very much cheaper.

Power line adapters are absolutely fine and legal to use Europe wide. Winston just doesn't like them and will pounce on any thread asking about them.

The option he has provided is fine if you have coax cable fed to the room you want to watch the video in, from the room where the kit is installed.
Also it only has hdmi input meaning it won't work to provide the main room and secondary room a picture at the same time unless you also by a hdmi splitter.

The powerline options you have linked to have this splitter built in so that the main room and secondary room will both work at the same time.

Power line adapters are legal to buy.
Power line adapters cause interference.
Causing interference is illegal.
Ofcom have ordered several hundred to be removed after complaints.

I use an hdmi to component converter, linked to a slingbox 350 connected to a chromecast 2 dongle on tv giving full hd resolution. The hdmi to component converter is needed to get round hdmi copy protection issues.

Very flexible solution (approx £150-£160) and you can connect to slingbox using a mobile phone over internet for example.

I'm assuming you've ruled out all possibilities of running a single cable to the other room/TV, even an outside run?

They have, have they? Care to produce any substantiated facts and documented evidence to back this up?

Thanks for your solution Oilman
Looking at a certain internet selling outlet this all seems to be had for £100.

Sorry to jump in to the thread rjb101.

You are as capable of looking on the web as me. Start with Ofcom.

You claimed that all users of powerline adapters are committing an offence.

You made the allegation, you prove it.

Otherwise, take your slander elsewhere.

It is not the job of others to prove things for you.

Sky Q is going to use powerline technology, could be problematic for them if they cause interference and too many people start using them who wouldn't have them otherwise, like the idea, but shame if a neighbours use of them stops you getting good AM signal in your house. I live above a shop and when one below had these electric displays on all AM in the flat was wiped out (except very strongest stations) and when they left at 5 the signal returned, now I have a shop which doesn't use that and so AM is normal.

Need to be sure slingbox is chromecast compatible ie m350 or m500.

Agreed - a simple warning is sufficient eg "be aware if you cause excessive interference and neighbours complain, they could go to Ofcom if you failed to take action".

Beyond that it is just bullshit claptrap. He's not the effing Ofcom police.

I'm not the one spouting nonsense at every opportunity, trying to dissuade people from using perfectly legitimate equipment in their homes to alleviate problems with networking and the smart home future.
Your continued tirade against the powerline adapters is now simply comical. I bet you absolutely blew a gasket when Sky announced SkyQ!!
