So I was playing Minecraft and I thin king about Eastenders as I was flattening a mountain and it got me thinking about the square, specifically the car lot.

Who the hell runs it these days? Is is shut?

Max is in prison, Fatboy's dead, fish boy - formerly army boy; has got this new job at The Rat, just who exactly is running it? Did I miss something? It's not been featured for a long time obviously since Lee was in there. Do you think they could re-use the area?

It's very dated idea now for a small borough, could they re-use the area? Stick a tree there make it more surburbanized, use it for something else - build another house on the end? Only trouble with the last idea is it would really close of that corner end?

If there's noone running it who should run it or how should it/should the area be re-used?

The same person who's running the R & R.

I wouldn't mind Jack working there, or maybe him and Ronnie.

IIRC Sharon does the books there but I think Jack will take over the car lot soon. He needs a job or he can work at The Albert.

David Wicks owned it with Max Branning.
Max owned it with Jack Branning after he bought it off David.
Max ran it with Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb.
Max lost it to Phil Mitchell.
Fatboy then ran it.
Fatboy then asked Lee Carter to help him.
Fatboy got murdered so Lee was in charge.
Phil got drunk and sacked Lee.
No one is running it now.

(Think anyway.)

I reckon Jack Branning will revive it. Or they may wait until Max comes back.

Ahhhhh the infamous car lot which is somehow so profitable year after year that it can sustain one and usually two wages, yet only having 3 cars for sale at a time.

It was so much better when they ran PatCabs from there as well.

Like anyone would buy cars from a two-bit second hand car dealer like them in a shabby portacabin, usually with a "steretype" wideboy salesmen talking shite to them.

I think it should be turned into a taxi office. As pete137 pointed out, theres only like 3 cars for sale at a time, situated on a low traffic residential Square (the only real 'traffic' are pedestrians on the market) and spends half its time not even being run by someone... It should go under. It would be nice to see a new business there and to have a taxi office on set would be good since it would be fresh direction for some characters plus some people on the Square don't even have cars so its perfect for that too I think that business would suit Kat and Alfie actually

Im sure it was once said that they have more cars round the back (although we didn't see them when they lifted the portakabin in the air when they replaced it). But I do agree a taxi firm operating from there would be a much better prospect, especially as it means more job opportunities for the residents.

It is indeed cursed.

Max is in prison.
Fatboy got utterly Ronnie'd.
Charlie almost got Ronnie'd.
Phil has liver failure.
Lee is lumbered with Whitney.

The only one who somehow managed to come out of it unscathed was David, who managed to get out of his curse of being married to Happy Carol, but suffered a heart attack for the privilege.

Jack will probably run it like others have said but then again Phil hates Jack so would he want him running one of his businesses, though Phil is probably too drunk to care at the moment and it would be better than know one running it. To be fair though Phil has a chequered history with the Car Lot also what with him killing a homeless guy when he torched it for Frank Butcher in the earlier 90's as well as Phil almost dying in the second car lot fire caused by Barry Evans who organised for it to be set on fire to get rid of Frank unaware that Phil was asleep inside. Phil also got into a load of trouble over the Car Lot in 2000 when he, Frank and Roy were involved in selling stolen Car's on the Car Lot. Also didn't Jack con Phil into selling the plot to him when Peggy owned the land after he had a recording of Phil admitting to his role in Kevin's death due to the cut and shut car fiasco also he found Ben having sex with Paul in the Car Lot, Phil's worse nightmare. The place is more trouble than it is worth.

I'd actually forgotten Jack was returning for a more fuller return, makes sense as he's always got a bit of money lying around - and it keeps it in the faaaaaamily. What there is of it.

At least with a taxi rank they also wouldn't have to worry too much about keep switching the cars every now and again when someone actually "Buys one."
