BT Infinity Speed check.
6. Data Rate: 7154 / 29999
7. Maximum Data Rate: 7138 / 47742 I have been looking at the speed results on my HH5. I am paying for upto 38 Mbs, can anyone confirm if the info in 6. means I am actually limited by BT to 29.99 Mbs.? Can I actually get unto 47.74 Mbs ?? thanks. |

More likely the last bit of copper wire from your master socket back to the fibre cabinet on the side of the road is limiting your ultimate speed. The length and quality of that cable will have an effect on the broadband signal. Generally the longer the line the lower the speed though other factors such as noise on the line can also have an effect.

Also, I've found that the BT speed checker isn't particularly reliable and I always check it with speedtest.net, you may see higher figures reported there. |
