I don't think manipulation had anything to do with it. The winners single aside (which was obviously more suited for Louisa than Reggie and Bollie), I think everyone was treated pretty much the same.
Doubt many people would've predicted that R&B would do so well in the show, and if Louisa was in the final with the guy who came third, I think either of them could've won. The song was garbage though, I mean, that Ben guy was terrible at singing the song HE won with too, but at least the original version of that song was okay.
The show never got as many viewers as before, and it wasn't as entertaining to watch, but with gormless Grimshaw and over-rated Cheryl on the panel, it's easy to see why so many people were put off watching the last series.
