How worried should I be?
TV is a Sony KDL-40w4000, around seven years old. The line, which appeared about two months ago, is very thin and faint, vertical, about two centimetres from the right edge, pale orange colour so I'm guessing there is a line of blue pixels not getting any signal.
It's barely noticeable on anything other than a plain blue background and only appears on first switching on if the tv has been off for a few hours and disappears after around half an hour, less if the room temperature is warmer.
Googling the problem brings up two possibilities
1. Failing T-Con board
2. Loose ribbon connection to the panel which can be gently pushed back into place and secured with sticky tape.
Does that make sense to you repair guys out there? Is this an easy fix or should I start looking for another tv?
