Sony kdl 32W705B freeview recording

I'm thinking of getting a hard drive for my Sony tv to record from freeview can you delete recordings via Sony tv

Of course you can - I presume you are aware that recordings are also locked to your specific TV?, you can't even transfer the drive to an identical model.

Ok thanks also does it record beginning and end like if programme starts late or if programme goes on later and don't finish late

It's a bit fiddly compared with using a PVR and as there is only one tuner you can't watch one programme and record another. The TV also takes a bit longer to come on as it checks the drive at start up. I found it a waste of time to be honest unless you want to use it to pause live TV which it does quite well. It chopped the end off one programme I recorded so not sure how well it tracks start times.

From reading the online manual

it seems that it can do Series Recording but might not track recordings if the broadcast time changes.

Page 93 - Using Other Devices - Timer Recording
Quote:
“If the selected programme is part of a series, you can make series recording by selecting [Set Timer As a Series]. (This function is available depending on your region/country.)”

Page 217 - Troubleshooting
Quote:
“Timer recording may not be possible if the broadcasting time of the programme is changed.”
